I'm saddened by the way people are just commenting....A team has not played together for a year, they just got a new coach, few top members off the team are not available with several new faces. And then they only had one day to train for this match..,Playing a world champion squad like france.....

The Girls did their best under the situation.....Besides the beauty of the result is that, it puts the coach, the NFF and the girls on notice that there is lots of work to do.....

I hope more tough friendlies are put together for the girls, so that they can get better as a team .....

And kudos to Pinnick for taken responsibility for the failure and given support to the girls

No problem. Shiit happens sometimes. The girls are doih well generally. Didn't Germany thrash Brazil 7-1, And Netherland flogged the defending champioms Spain 5-1 in the last world cup. In the game of soccer, anything can happen.

Don't forget the 2006 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup held in Russia when they beat Finland 8–0
Your comparisons are total garbage, Spain were world champions and back to back European champions,. Brazil have won the world cup for a record 5 times and have been crown confederations cup champions for three consecutive times. Super falcons is a perfect example of a big fish in a little pond (Africa) but immediately become fingerlings when they get to world tourneys. How do you defend their abysmal performances at the world stage? They haven't made a mark there for a team that owns the African women's football

Are you so mannerless? Please learn to be polite if you wish to express a contrary opinion. Everybody have a right to their views and opinions.

I wasn't comparing our women's super falcons to the men's foreign world cup teams mentioned. The simple point I made is that in the game of soccer, ANY team can be thrashed regardless of your past records or feats. Gosh! angry

Mr. mannerful(sic), apologies if I didn't sound polite enough. You weren't comparing Spain's and Brazil's drubbing by Netherlands and Germany respectively, why then did you justify the super falcon's drubbing by France using the former as a justification for the latter? The French female football team at least since I started following female football have not won anything of note, even the best female football team in the world shouldn't be thrashing the super falcons by eight unreplied goals. The super falcons aren't posing a threat at all at the world stage. They keep getting thrashed by the Europeans and Asians. They must step up.
