Saturday's Manchester derby will live long in the memory.
Manchester City could have been crowned Premier League champions with a victory, but their bitter rivals managed to produce a stunning comeback to prevent that from happening.

After the home side took a 2-0 lead going into half-time, it seemed inevitable that they would achieve their goal.

But Man United were having none of it.
Jose Mourinho's side looked a completely different team after the break. Paul Pogba scored two quick-fire goals, before a Chris Smalling volley sealed the victory.

WHAT MOURINHO SAID AT HALF-TIME
It really was a tale of two halves.

Man United were all at sea in the first 45 minutes but looked a completely different side in the second period.
Mourinho clearly worked magic with his words in the dressing room at half-time, and he must take the majority of credit for his side's turnaround.

But what exactly did he say?

In his post-match interview, Mourinho stated: "I gave them examples of many matches, teams losing 2-0 can recover."

And Chris Smalling has elaborated even further.

The match winner revealed how Mourinho told his players not to stand there and watch Man City win the title like clowns.

The match winner revealed how Mourinho told his players not to stand there and watch Man City win the title like clowns.

"The manager didn’t have to say much at half time as we knew ourselves as players it was a poor performance," Smalling explained.

"He said that we didn’t want to be the clowns standing there watching them get their title.

"City have been fantastic here all season, but we stepped up and won the game."

Short, but powerful.

It's true, Man United would have been the laughing stock of the Premier League if they just let Man City win the title with ease.

But they fought back admirably, with Mourinho's words clearly having the desired effect.

All credit must go to Mourinho for managing to motivate his players when all hope seemed lost.

POGBA SPEAKS AFTER THE GAME

Pogba also revealed how motivated Man United's players were to prevent Man City from winning the title in front of them, explaining how it would have been like death to watch them celebrate.

"I didn't want to lose against City, the loss from last season is still in my mind. If they won they are champions, for all the fans it would be like death.

To lose against City and to see them celebrate, I couldn't let that happen. At half time in the dressing room we said we have nothing to lose, 2-0 lets make it.

"After a second half like this, we have to do that all the time. If we did we would be up there with City, and maybe even in front."
