This is a good development. The state government has no business running companies best run by private investors. Sell it and collect taxes and focus on increasing more investor presence in your state.

What about Benue state university and Benue state govt staff quarters, those are the properties am interested in buying. As for Benue links he should not even try to sell it because that transport company is the pride of benue and the reason people still know that there is a state like benue in Nigeria.

Benue Links have lost their glory. Used to be very efficient early 2000s under Akume. Reckless drivers, poorly managed vehicles/buses etc. Pleasure Travels and other privately owned transport companies are the in thing in Benue now. Though Nyaya and New Nyaya are not that better, but they are doing well. Very efficient. I think about Benue links, the worry is their fares would no longer be "cheaper" than the rest. Besides, not even all the buses are owned by the state government. Private individuals register with them also. B

This is coming after the government's inability to pay workers salaries for the past two years despite collecting Paris Club refund and Bailout from the Federal Government.

Nigerians react to everything even though they don't understand a thing about it, what has government ever properly managed in this country, in developed countries these things are managed by private enterprises it should be for profit making not for sympathy making.....those government companies are dead because of sentiment. So I say it is a step in right direction, once a private enterprise manages them, it will be reposition for profit making not for being a hole in government pockets.

I knew from day one its because Orthom has nothing to show as his archivement that he came up with the bogus story of herdsmen killings .
Knowing fully well the age old rivalry between the Tiv and Fulanis unfortunately many believe TY Danjuma when he made his own Jukum man statement meanwhile the Jukum and Tiv are same but in different states now eye go clear .

If there is anything legacy left for Benue State it's that Benue Links. How that man sell it?

Good idea only if the proceeds would be used judiciously. But they should put a clause so Benue Links retains its name.

I think selling the companies is a good idea. There's no point in government owning in efficient companies. If they get the sale right, Benue would be better for it and in my opinion, its easier to sell to the right investor than to vote in competent people.

My friend bought that Burnt brick factory about a year ago from that govt so I dont know what it's doing there , he has been shopping for funds to revamp the place .

you are tribalistic Jerry! A typical Tiv man is not lazy. Have you ever watched them work? If they were lazy they would not have been producing food

The governors that are not bringing anything/investments in their States are fast to sell what they met on ground. No doubt, Ortom is a brother to Okowa. Obviously, for defending Benue, Ortom needs money to rescue his rice farm that was destroyed by Fulani herdsmen or better still, selling off Benue is his collateral to take Benue back from the Fulani herdsmen and be in their good books. But, who will be the buyers? We will know later, that is if the Benue people allows him to sell their common wealth as did Okowa. Nigerian governors are simply armed robbers.

He can sell everything even the whole benue but he should please spare only benue links.. Datz d only thing people still know that exist in benue.
