thebigkendo:Ok, like I said, the commodity lacking in your quest was 'time' You obviously didn't have enough spare time to burn on searching for something that's not going to yield u any tangible dividend. Volvo S40's are actually not that Much around, with the right search parameters you'll get what u want. If you can't find cars that are sold, how did someone else find them on same site? |

erico2k2:Sorry to say, but everything you have typed here is absolutely wrong. You’re clearly misinformed, and it’s only right to try and set things straight so you don’t misinform or mislead others as well. Have you ever heard of insurance fraud ? A lot of cars that get auctioned have actually never been in any accident , or had any actual damage. And YES, body parts do get removed deliberately on lots of these cars. In many cases, a cars title means nothing. I have seen cars without ANY damage at all, labeled as ‘destruction, non-repairable, junk, bio-hazard, salvage’ bla bla Like I said sometime ago, this car business is not always in black and white, and while I am all for ‘full disclosure’ and all what not, let’s call a spade a spade. Nigeria is NOT the only country where folks are dishonest. Now, to further buttress my point, can you kindly tell me why this pathfinder which only had a dent on the trunk, was labeled ‘Certificate of destruction’ ?

[/quotep] A certificate of destruction is issued by a scrap yard) UK (junk yard )in the US . When the vehicle is certified dismantled or scraped . No this is worse than salvaged vehicles . They sell the car in whole as for parts but our brothers import them ,paint them and repackage them as non accident TOks . Now salvage is different . Salvage is the state of a car b4 scrap which is final . . Now if a car fails to sell at auctions it goes to a scrap yard who issues a certificate of distribution . These cars are called End of Life vehicles EOV . |

@eriko2k2 You have only served to prove me right even further. Now, kindly listen carefully, will you ? * The USA is made up of 50 states, which are all largely independent (confederating units) This means that, a law which applies in NC will NOT apply in Ohio (for example). Now, this goes for car titles as well. The pathfinder I posted above, has a Certificate of destruction simply because it’s in Florida. That’s all. * Vehicle titles defer from state to state. VA calls theirs ‘Non repairable titles’ NY does NOT issue salvage titles, they call theirs ‘NY-MV907A’, Wisconsin call theirs ‘junking certificates’ and so on and so forth.. * If that pathfinder was in a diff state, it would NOT have a certificate of destruction most likely. Now, that pathfinder is a 2002 model with 177k miles actual, and the vehicle is available for sale in Lagos and it does not have a single issue, just the dent on trunk, which was fixed. I mean, copart claimed the vehicles primary damage was ‘front end’ but I’m sure you can see the real damage for yourself. * You claim vehicles are issued certificate of destruction when it is certified dismantled, scrapped or whatever. And I say again, does that Pathfinder look like it has been dismantled ? * When it comes to cars and auctions, these things vary, and there’s no rule of thumb to go by. The best and foolproof way to verify ANY car is by physical inspection by a professional who knows what to look out for. Not vehicle titles and all what not.. cc egunmogaji you are experienced with these sort of things, pls shed more light. |

elshanAutos:As Baba Egun's mouthpiece, I quote I don't do salvaged vehicles personally but I guess if it's fully disclosed and repaired properly then it might be okay. It is my opinion that there are enough clean good one owner vehicles that it makes salvaged vehicles unappealing to me. Of all the cheap one owner vehicles in the US, why are you guys fixated on these salvaged dangerous junks? ![]() |

elshanAutos:No you missed the point.unscrupulous scrap yard sell whole car as parts . You can never register such cars I the US ever . .you buy it I whole to dismantle . This is how you get used parts in the US and UK . I perform services for hydrolic systems in one of these perks I'm right there as we speak . I will take photos of a certificate of distribution in a out 10 mins if they have one .A car with such title is worse than salvaged . It mean sit was bout from the junkyard not Auctions

elshanAutos:Here is my take on this subject. Before I start I want to salute your knowledge on US, her states and their laws. As an example, something as simple as making a right turn on red which is allowed in California is a fine cash cow in other states because it's illegal. States are free to make up their own laws as long as it doesn't violate federal law or encroach on federal rights. I live in California and that is where I do business and that's what I know. I know several states do indeed have different title types and hence partly why NTVMIS (sp) came in. I know that some unscrupulous entities would export a salvaged vehicle from California to a state like I think Nevada and get a title there and then import the vehicle back to California where it would get a clean title. As you said and I agree, title is but only one tool in deciphering the condition of a vehicle. Many vehicles are repaired without getting a salvaged title. One of my friends crashed his under 500 miles MINI Cooper S at a race track. The insurance refused to cover it because they don't cover accidents that happen off road. This wasn't a small crash but a rollover. Not one single panel on teh car was undamaged. Guess what? He rebuilt it in his garage and he kept driving it. So as you can see when he goes to sell the car he will have a clean title. Also, there are serious auto repair shops here that do such good work that they have a waiting list. For them to even look at your car will take you 3 months. The cars they turn out are not better than new but close. Factory gives cars to them to repair. Are there cars to be overlooked just because it may have a salvaged title? So here goes, the issue here is the intentional ommision of the true background of the vehicle. Saying a car s nto salvaged because I don't think so is the same as Jonathan saying corruption is not stealing. There are hefty monetary fines and even jail time for poepl caught selling salvaged vehicle as clean title vehicles in California. They have a specific task force that goes out haunting websites, forums, dealerships with sting operation to catch this scoflaws. I personally do not deal in salvage titled vehicles because I don't have to. Good clean one owner vehicles are my niche and they are available to me, so why would I go to some auction to buy junk cars? To close, salvage title is not necessarily bad, just do full disclosure and let the cleint make up his mind if to buy or not. |

elshanAutos:Bros believe me we all know/understand what you are talking about, Oga Ericko2k2 is in "Obodo oyibo" So he reasons like them oyibo(No Insult intended) even a car like this sweet muscle, that the owner removed the sport kit for safe keeping.. He will maintain it has structural damage and should be dismantled for part or crushed. Please keep bringing them for us.. elshanAutos:I just read fru what you wrote . I think you missed my point Try and understand what I'm saying and hiw this works Facts about Certificate of Distruction 1.can never be issued to an individual (unless he owns a dismantling certificate and has a site for it ie junkyard ) 2 .U won't find such cars on auction sites 3.cars which do not sell on Auction sites go straight to scrap yard . Now for how these cars come out like that Toyota . I can xplain Now cars which goes fru this process are not always bad.they ain't . But what happens hee is this.I go to scrap yard . See this car that's is going to be destroyed . I offer to buy it.I tow it to a shipping yard . Export it as part cos It now has a title of Distruction . Gets to Nigeria . Fixed if there is anything to be fixed 5 hen sold on. Now it is worthy to note . Not all car that has this title is bad . .But this main post has nothing to do with cars with certificate of Distruction rather ones with salvage titles . Now that being said . For your car to have a certificate of Distruction it must be 1 very old 2 faulty not worth the fix 3 salvaged beyond repair and did not sell at auction . 4 disputed so as local authority could not auction it only option was to scrap it To this end ie number 4 . I will show a pic of a Mercedes that is going to be destroyed for a simple reason . Local authorities in the UK are not allowed to Auction foreign vehicles . |

@egunmogaji well said, thanks for your input! @erico2k2 I am not here to go back & forth with you. We all have our fields of expertise, and this field is certainly not yours as you have proven over and over again. I only weighed in because you said you’re over 200% sure the Volvo s40 advertised here with a ‘salvage title’ has structural damage, which are false claims, as you did not inspect the car, neither did you verify anything about it. I believe my points are crystal clear and as such, I’m done here, have a nice day all! And happy sales @OP. |
| Re: 010 Model Volvo S40 Toks @2.7m SOLD!! SOLD!!! by Nobody: 5:34pm On Apr 13, 2018 |
elshanAutos:I think both of you are correct but here's a thought. Copart get's a vehicle for sale with a salvage title for just a fuel filler damage (not impossible but I find it improbable). Upon checking the car out for full disclosure perhaps they found damage in the front end. I have seen a car that looks intact but missing structural pieces from damage and shoddy repair. Unless we inspect the car then we cannot fully ascertain the front end damage that is alleged. |

elshanAutos:Plz read the updated reply I gave up there @EgunMogaji I greet you . At salvaged vehicles there is no ambiguous explanation there . It's either it is or its not.Insurance would not pay out if they could fix it.. |
