Please nairalanders. I recently bought a Lenovo android phone. The first thing I discovered is that there's no Google playstore on the phone. No problem, I could just download one. I downloaded the playstore and installed it successfully. But the app wouldn't work because there's no Google play service installed. In fact, because of the lack of the play service, anything Google won't work on my phone and that's a lot of handicap for an android phone. Ok, I downloaded the play service then the error message, 'unfortunately Google play service have stopped' became a frequent message. Google apps and every other Google powered apps still wont work. The play service is obviously not working. Please, I need the expertise and guidance of the nairaland techies on this matter. What am I doing wrong and how can I fix it?

Ur case is different. U have gapps (Google apps) preinstalled on ur fone. His lenovo did not av one.

Op wat u can do is root the fone n find nice custom rom on dat device u can then flash the custom rom n gapps on it. U wil av Google running

Thanks. I suppose I'll try installing the recent play service as earlier suggested. If that doesn't work I'll then root and flash a custom Rom , though I'll apparently take the phone to engineers for that

I can also recommend using Aptoide, which is another App store.

Just root your phone. Install opengapps. Opengapps will automatically find the gapps that suits your phone and install.
