The problem with simple minds such as yours is that you confuse the fact that Lagos was part of Benin Kingdom with the claim that "lagos belongs to the Benins". Obviously sokoto doesn't belong to the inhabitants of abuja, nor does bordeaux belong to the inhabitants of paris. Lagos doesn't belong to the inhabitants of ife, nor those of oyo and it also doesn't belong to the inhaibatnts of Edo-state or Delta-state, it belongs to the indigenous people of Lagos. These were the 9 ancient gate of Benin before Portuguese came in 1472 A. D, these 9 gate serves as trade area from the oversea. The other part of Nigeria are referred to as oversea then.

The Benin-Ughoton road was a gate way for oversea trades, leading over many centuries of the prosperity and enlightenment which go with trades, had:
1) The main Gateway leading to Benin City on Oroghotodin Road at the inner moat before Uzebu.
