I have seen videos of dogs and elephants swimming in what looks like an ocean.

Any animal with 4 legs can swim. It's actually harder for humans than them. In the south the herds of cows Cross the Niger to the islands. Most times carrying the herdsmen on their backs.

all animal can swim

All animals have natural swimming instinct.
Only humans lose that instinct as we grow out of infancy.

This is almost unbelievable! I've seen a baby elephant swimming, a polar bear swimming, but I'm mesmerized by seeing camels! I just can't believe the camels are swimming! Truly amazing!! God's creatures on earth and how they survive. "Planet Earth" (the 6-disc CD set) brings to mind how amazing wildlife live on a daily basis....just plain amazing.
I, digress...anyhow I just hope there is land near...so that they will have somewhere to rest.
Swimming can be tiring.

Though I doubt if they can go very long distances. There's hypothermia to contend with and of course rogue waves.
