In about 7 months time, it will be time for the largest opposition party in Nigeria to select their presidential flag bearer in a primary that we all hope will be devoid of rancor.
PDP is a party we all love and hate equally. While they are guilty of so many things, its also important to note that the greatest progress Nigeria has made so far has been under them. Its therefore good for our democracy that this party should remain strong. Remember that political party and politicians are two different things.
We believe that these four people would be vying for the party ticket. Who, in the interest of democracy would you prefer to see emerge as the Presidential nominee for 2019? Who would you want to see test his popularity against Muhammad Buhari, and probably kick him out? Click like for your preferred candidate only.

Ps. Don't tell us that PDP is dead. That's childish. If that's your opinion on the matter, then you should be in the tribal section of politics, not here with sane people. Don't also tell us that PDP is a party of thieves because that is immature. There is no party of thieves, just thieving politicians and you can find them more currently in the ruling APC than in today's PDP

I believe that by withstanding the Buhari wave in 2015 and retaining his state for PDP, this one has shown himself to be a good and popular candidate. He also has youth going for him. However, I fear that he may be another Jonathan; indecisive.

I don't know much about this one other than the fact that he wants to be president and that he seems popular in his Jigawa state.

Atiku
This one is probably the most politically powerful among them. Popular in both North and South. But he is generally seen as corrupt and the APC would have a field day telling that to all voters. He would however most likely be a powerful, decisive president. His age is also against him.

Ahmed Markarafi

This one is probably the least popular among them even though he has been PDP chairman, a Senator and a governor. He also lost his seat to the Buhari wave in 2015 which doesn't show him as a strong candidate on his own, without PDP backing.

PDP should just feed Daekwambo already and approach whoever handled Tinubu's Buhari packaging... I believe they can do the packaging for half the price with some attached discount...His profile will actually sell in SW except for Osinbajo influence

my concern is not about who have ruled and how long he has ruled. It is about those contesting, no Southerner is showing interest. When the south was ruling, they had enough Northerners contesting against them.

Dankwambo is d best candidate for PDP but he is not popular in the southern part of Nigeria and he is not buoyant in terms of cash that can match Apc's cash. Because of this, I think Atiku should b PDP flag bearer. He is popular both in North n South.

Any new face that goes to power now will face the kind of challenges Jonathan faced, starting from a deliberate gang up, sponsored violence and vandalism to cripple the economy and raise security concerns

Atiku is the only force that can stabilize this country and usher in the new generation of leaders

He has already promised 70% of positions to the youth and we won't have to wait till he is elected before we know if he is lying, his cabinet members will be known before election and inauguration soon after swearing in

He is the only one talking about restructuring. Mind you, all those saying that Buhari said the same thing.
NO! Buhari never said anything personally about restructuring during campaign, all he was rambling about was fighting corruption, the rest were APC handiwork and all those promises were dismissed by Buhari when he came to power and no one could hold him responsible because he did not make any promises personally

Atiku has personally outlined his plans

Atiku has worked with youths, established and run businesses, excel in the art of diplomacy and although age is not on his side, health is very much on his side

To break the decades of chain holding this country, we don't just need a new shift, we need an old hand in tune with modern reality to usher in the new Nigeria

Again I repeat, Nigeria is too complex especially with the present structure, any new face coming in will repeat Jonathan's mistakes

Atiku is the answer

The most credible alternative for the Presidency in 2019 remains Senator Ahmed Makarfi.

Lamido will come distant second in the primary

Atiku Abubakar should continue wasting his money

Dankwambo? Lols even Gombe delegates will advice him to go to Senate or wait for ministerial appointment

This shows you don't know anything about politics.

He's least popular yet he was begged by all organs of PDP to be the National Chairman to help unite the party and lead it to the right path even when he never showed a single interest.

He's not a strong candidate yet he defeated Hunkuyi backed by Buhari in 2003 Governorship and still defeated Buhari's backed ANPP and CPC candidates in Kaduna North Senate elections in 2007 and 2011 respectively despite the gang up by some members of PDP in Kaduna state.

If you don't know, Makarfi is the MOST respected leader in PDP as at today with strong and formidable structures within and outside the party in all six geopolitical zones.

Have you seen him running after "Wike and Fayose" like many people are doing? He has class... He has all his stuffs figured out!

BTW PDP loss in Kaduna state in 2015 was due to the animosity against JONATHAN, Yero and PDP as a brand... Unlike in some other states that was due to Buhari's wave (eg Katsina)

Atiku is the only man who can unseat buhari because he's popular both in the Southern and Northern Nigeria. PDP should not make the mistake of bringing out any of Dakwanbo, Markarfi or Lamido. APC is praying seriously for PDP not to give atiku ticket

Wrong! Buhari has been the northerner always contesting Since 2003. By the way the many jokers of third force and youth are largely southerners!

In fact, you deserve an award for nailing it. Atiku Is the man to take on buhari clinically and successfully on all undercurrents and indices.
PDP doesn't need a clannish candidate with little weight hoping on the party rather a candidate that can even do an independent run now backed by the truly national party. That way, the candidate needs no introduction and the party too is household across the country!
Sai Atiku to the rescue. PDP mustn't play to apc's trap ooooo!

to me the only person that can take power from Buhari is Atiku

loved all over Nigeria
sule lamido has a cult follower in the north but no one knows him her in the south

as for markafi
trust me that one can never win Kaduna state for pdp
forget TonyeBarcanista rant his palm have been greased

Buhari and apc dynasty has crumbled
what pdp needs now is a credible and popular candidate that will split northern votes with at least from 40%-50%
the rest will be history.
Nigerians are ready to vote out apc but who are they voting in
