Was that a trick question?
Whatever snatching of phone does not warrant him to be killed
Its better if he is tried in a court of law...

Momentum = Mass × Velocity.

Also,

Mass of gun × Recall velocity = Mass of bullet × nozzle velocity.
It is more of biology (human anatomy)and a bit of physics for the bullet. A object (not just a bullet) at that high speed is capable of passing through the human flesh effortlessly. If the object passes through any of the vital organs like the lungs, heart, brain e.t.c the victim dies in a few seconds. If the object hits a not so vital organ but there is enough bleeding that causes loss of blood in seconds or few minutes, the victim still dies.

Was he armed?
Did he injure his victim or attempt injuring the vigilante?
If both questions above are no,the vigilante members should be arrested for murder!
Some of these vigilantes use their access to guns and their pseudo security status to carry out reprissals on individuals they may have had issues with in the past.
How can you murder someone for stealing a maybe N5k or at most N25k Chinko phone!!

It is a crime to shoot or rather kill an unarmed man or robber. Was he armed? Did he attack the victim? Case of over zealous vigilante

You guys couldn't even read a news of just two short sentences, three or four lines in total.

If these guys demand for your phone and you refuse to let it go, don't you think they will either shoot or stab you dead for being "stubborn"? Many Nigerians have been killed by phone snatchers. In fact, many victims were not even given chance to release their phones willingly.
Don't confuse this case with jungle justice because I don't support jungle justice in any form. This is a case of armed vigilantes vs "fleeing" armed phone snatcher.

"With their guns" is just his priors not that he was armed at the point he was shot.
Is very obvious no gun was recovered from him.
Or did you see any arm or ammunition around his corpse?

What evidence have you to show he was armed?
From what I can deduce from the scanty information provided by the OP is that he was just a thief.
Theft doesn't equate armed robbery

No, I didn't see any. But I saw his motorcycle which made my second point valid. They were fleeing or he was fleeing on motorcycle. There was no way they wouldn't have brought him down with bullets.

The report said so, you should ask them.
Secondly, he was fleeing on motorcycle, gunning him down was justified even in the court of law. You may want to argue that.

If he was fleeing the scene of the crime, then it is the duty of the vigilantes to chase after him and not to drop him.
Moreover that your alibi that he was fleeing is just an assumption... No concrete evidence to certify it

If the report says it was armed robbery then the reporter should present the arms and ammunitions used in the robbery as evidence to backup his claims.
The report never stated he was fleeing the scene.
That motorcycle wasn't captured officially in the report

That's their modus operandi unless you want to claim being ignorant of it. They're usually operating in group of two or three. Motorcycle is their means of escaping quickly.

And there is no way you will chase a motorcycle while on foot and catch up, bullets do the job quicker and better.

In Osogbo, about three months ago, a person of mine was robbed by group of three armed people who were on motorcycle in early hours of the day.

No pity for those who embrace the world of crimes, those who take happiness from others, lazy Nigeria youth. He was gunned down by the security in the community after committing a crime and fleeing the crime scene, end of story. This wasn't a mob action. Anyone who disagree is free to take matter up.

This is getting interesting.
Report says robbing with guns, you said there was no gun in the picture.
There was motorcycle in the picture on ground and being taking away with his corpse in the patrol vehicle, you said it wasn't captured in the report. That's classical example of double standard. Lol.

We shouldn't justify injustice.
The vigilantes should get a means of mobility to aid them in discharging their duty effectively.
It wasn't stated in the report that he was fleeing the scene.
Say no to kangaroo justice

I said it was not officially captured in the report simply means the motorcycle wasn't labelled as an exhibit.
By the way what gave you the assurance that the motorcycle belongs to his gang.
If they were fleeing on the supposed bike, then where is the rest of the member of the gang?
