A First Class Graduate Nigerian Youth with the Name Tutu Abbey Speaks Her Mind Seek For Job Offer On Twitter. If you know anyone who knows anyone that can be of help check her out.

She wrote:
"Hi TwitFam, Please I need a job. I’m a First Class Graduate of Civil Engineering with adept knowledge on Preparation of structural drawings. Proficient in AutoCAD, Orion, Coreldraw, photoshop and Microsoft Offlce Suite. I'm Done with NYSC and I’m in Lagos. Please help RT

For her to come out publicly on this matter means she deserve an accolades. Many youth like her are out there but are ashamed of asking for help.

I am also a first class graduate of biochemistry. Still looking for job. First class is overrated. It won't give you your dream job on a platter of gold.

We must remain upbeat, keeping trying, refuse to be stunted by our society's dispiriting regard for excellence, and stubbornly carve a niche for ourselves. Proceeding with a mentality like that would catapult us to the zenith, where excellence-lovers and difference-makers sit. It is well.

.

Pomposity is one of their problems. They don't want to start low or from some where.

The corporate or business world is different from the academic world. This is one thing they don't know. You start from some where as nodody then rise to the top as someone or manager tomorrow. Where you start from doesn't matter, it is where you are going that counts.

You can't be a First Class Graduate and becomes a manager or supervisor in any organisation when employed , you have to start from somewhere with low pay and acquire EXPERIENCE. In the academic world, First Class counts but in the corporate world, it is EXPERIENCE that counts. EXPERIENCE will make you to be a Manager or supervisor and companies prefer or want to hire those with EXPERIENCE.

Albert Einstein said, "EXPERIENCE is the only true source of knowledge."

No Amount of certification can replace EXPERIENCE, integrity and a willingness to learn. EXPERIENCE is the acquisition of knowledge and skills in the academics and corporate or business world.

Why not think of working in tertiary institutions? Go for MSc. Do PhD. It may seem like a long thing but you will most probably get a job before you finish the PhD.

Master's degree bro? Hmm...okay. Do you know how I was able to get through bsc level? Do you know the degree of turmoil I went through in order to get that bsc, with little or no financial backing?
Don't let me start illustrating the dour experience I had while in school.
Honestly, I would have opted for Master's degree but I don't have the money bro. You might ask, what about scholarship? Its not easy getting a scholarship bro. To get international transcript in my school self na 50k. That alone has caused me to halt post graduate studies for now. So I started a business and I bless God its yielding profits. Likewise, I started learning HTML and CSS and with time I created a blog to keep myself busy and to sharpen my mind.
So what I'm saying in essence is, Don't wait for that dream job. Get busy.. Sooner or later, your story will change because definitely, It won't continue this way.

Lol.

If all the first class here start writing their experience, nairaland will not contain it.

The only thing first class has done for me is to get me easily laid when I was in school , or apply for post graduate scholarship. Nothing else.

It has very very little impact. Work experience is the key and you don't need a first class for that.

Nigeria represents everything wrong in this continent. The quickest way to fame is a celebrity show, where all cautions are thrown to the wind and immorality is celebrated. Its high time we check the brains of Nigerians who celebrate public sex and nudity on our TV. NIGERIA IS NOT A SHIT HOLE, ITS SOME OF THE CITIZENS OF Nigeria

Infact I don't see any good reason why these first class graduates will be looking for white collar jobs, they should just go back to their alma maters and become lecturers.
