Following the controversies that trailed the APC ward congresses held in Delta State on Saturday, a concerned APC group in the state have appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene in crisis brewing in the party as a result of the fall out in the congress in what they termed hijacking of the political party by the state Governor in collaboration with some party stakeholders and Governorship Aspirants. The group in statement issued on Sunday 6th, May 2018 alleged that the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa used the state resources to sponsor crisis in the party the statement read :
“That Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has continued to squander the resources of Delta state in a reckless manner is no longer news to the good people of Delta State. It has become a norm.
Just recently, the Principal Secretary to senator Okowa,, Mr. Hilary Ibegbulem hosted Prophet Jones Erhue , Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Delta State and Barrister Felix Morka in his residence in Asaba. This is sequel to a meeting earlier held at Reiz Continental Hotel, Abuja.
In the said meeting, the sum of one hundred million naira ( N100, 000 000) was disbursed by Gov. Okowa to Prophet Jones Erhue and Barrister Felix Morka to bribe the National Congress Committees headed by Alhaji Sani Dododo. With this ugly development, the plan which is for the APC Delta State to perpetually remain under the control of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in the state have just been actualized.
It is important to clearly state that the cooperation between a Guber aspirant from Delta Central and the government of senator Okowa has continued to blossom and it is also clear that the All Progressives Congress, APC, Delta State may not survive if this Guber aspirant from Central is allowed the ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC for next year's election.
We, therefore, call on and plead with all men of conscience to intervene and pray for the APC, Delta State as a stitch in time saves nine.

It can be recalled that the All Progressives Congress held its nationwide congress across all wards in the country on May 5th , 2018in which has been trailed so many reactions. In Delta state the embattled and suspended Senator representing Delta Central District, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and Chief Great Ogboru were copiously absent from Delta State, as visits to Orogun and Abraka, the country homes of the two APC chieftains showed that they were not in town. Meanwhile, the congress in the State suffered further stain as a chairmanship aspirant for the All Progressives Congress in Jeremi ward 10 (III), Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. Jeremiah Oghoveta, was reportedly stabbed to death following a misunderstanding on the conduct of the party’s Ward congress.
However, the State APC leader, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, while speaking to journalist on his assessment of the conduct of the Ward Congress in Delta, after voting at his Evwreni ward 8, described the exercise as generally peaceful.
