people making movies based off comics are lucky or perhaps unlucky because they have decades of material to choose from

the next x-men movie is going to feature the dark pheonix saga - hopefully this time they will get it right

a lot of the criticism of comic book movies is more towards how really badass villainsa re dumbed down. if you watched batman and robin you would have wanted to shoot joel schumacher for what he did to bane, one of the most popular and deadliest villains in the batman universe.

your modern marvel or dc superhero movie takes large parts of its story from character, places and events in the comic storyline.

they may adapt it to modern times, but it is still the same story

the original iron man story had tony stark imprisoned to make a weapon. every batman movie references the death of his parents as a child.

So that the kids can move on and have their own movie.

I thought Predestination was the magnum opus of mind-twisting for me till I completed Memento few hours ago. Good God!! This movie is the pinnacle of mind-fuckîng so far for me.

With Predestination, I understood about 80% of the movie before reading up on the final 20% to fully understand the movie. But Memento? I was confused all through. Never have a movie got me confused all through its duration like Memento. It left me dazed. Two happenings occurring sequentially, involving the same characters, in a chronological and reverse order, before reaching an amazing climax. When I read the various explanations and fully understood the movie, my jaw dropped. Amadeo, I doff my heart for you. You sabi good movies. Damn!! Christopher Nolan is an amazing director.


Memento, for such a brilliant script, I'm giving it 10/10.

The country gets its name from 'liberated area'. It was a settlement for freed slaves from various countries, so it did not make sense to colonise a settlement of former slaves. No sense whatsoever.

America, on the other hand colonised a number of countries. They bought Philipines from Spain and colonised it from 1898-1946.

America fought a war with Spain. When the war was over they either bought or seized most of Spain's territories in Asia and the Americas.
