Melaye Still In Police Custody, Fails To Get Bail Again

May 10 2018

After several Adjonment and kept under police custody, Sen Dino Melaye, standing trial for Gun Running and Conspiracy, fails to be granted bail by a Lokoja High Court again.

The bail which did not come easy, was after a prolong legal fireworks of legal counsels, Alex Iziyon and Mike Ozekhome, both Senior Advocates held the court spell bound for four hours exchanging superior legal submissions

Delivering his ruling on the matter, Justice Nasiru Ajanah, at High Court 1, adjoined the matter to may 16, 2018 for his ruling.

In his plea for bail, Mike Ozekhome, said aside the health condition of Sen Melaye, which calls for him to seek health care facilities, he is also standing trial in other courts on charges brought against him by the prosecution.

In a counter motion on why the court ought not to grant bail to Senator Melaye, Alex Iziyon, observed that proven antecedents since April, last year when the Senator failed to honor the police invitation, and his attempt to jump through the window of Police Hilux vehicle, are reasons the prosecution is objecting to the bail condition. —

Dino's is the first senator to attempt suicide and one of few people to ever be charged with attempted suicide.

Hopefully he will learn a lesson from this and be humble.

But, Mr. Melaye can't suddenly disappear if granted bail.

The allegations against him are serious.

He rebuffed invitation by the police on several occasions.

He attempted to flee the country at some point.

He resisted arrest and tried to influence a mob to achieve this.

He was caught on camera not only resisting arrest but threatening to kill himself so the police would take the blame.

By his own admission he jumped from the police vehicle conveying him to court.

If he's not a flight risk I don't know who is.

If the court finds it proper so be it.

But it is the same Kogi he's been avoiding.

When he tried to board a flight to Morocco.

A man who is wanted for arming thugs ought to report himself to the police otherwise he would reasonably be assumed to be running from justice.

You mean paid for by his gang.

The same gang that has tried to intimidate the Nigeria Police Force.

He was evading justice as we have witnessed over the course of this trial.

He should be remanded in prison pending the conclusion of the trial.

Why didn't he report himself to the police after he was invited to be questioned? Why leaving the country knowing fully well that he was needed for questioning?

there is no bail condition given to melaye by the court that he cant fulfill,
he just doesnt want to do it , it is a very smart move . by remaining in police custody , the whole world knows his security and life becomes the responsibility of the nigeria police .if he perfects his bail condition and goes home , he believe anything can happen to him and no one will be held responsible . so it is a smart move by him ,he is safe where he is now . he already got what he wanted and that was for him to be moved from lokoja to abuja , he knows that he isnt safe in lokoja because that is yahya territory

To me, Dino is only trying to buy time to determine his next move.He is technically the only Nigerian living in the safest environment at the moment. He has unlimited and prompt access to medicare, better than what we have in aso rock clinic and in a highly secured environment, probably more secured than the vice president.

Unproven hypothesis
I don't need to prove anything to anyone . The fact that he remains in police custody under police protection says it all. My hypothesis isn't for everyone
