Young people from around the world are invited to submit their innovative ideas and projects with a societal impact, which champion and implement one or more of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

About the Competition

The Youth Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition is a global programme and an online platform, which supports the implementation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
(SDGs).
It is an activity within the framework of the UNESCO Global Action Programme (GAP) on Education for Sustainable Development Goals.

Innovative ideas and plans to be implemented (by the entrant or by others)

2. Best Projects Category
Already existing enterprise which has demonstrated social impact

Grand Prize winners and the People’s Choice Prize winners will receive a Gold Medal and a Certificate.

Second Prize winners will receive a Silver Medal and a Certificate.

Third Prize winners will receive a Bronze Medal and a Certificate.

Finalists not chosen as prize winners will receive Honorable Mention. Entrepreneurship Campus Prize winners will receive a Certificate.

Selection Process

Entries will be evaluated based on their entrepreneurial vision, feasibility, innovation, leadership, social impact, and sustainability, among other factors.

The 10 entries receiving the most votes in each of the two categories will be considered finalists.

Finalists are requested to submit a video (max 3 minutes) of their idea/project (if they have not done so yet).

From among the finalists, the judges will make the final selection of three winners (Grand Prize, 2nd Prize and 3rd Prize) in each category.

The People’s Choice Prize will be given to the entry with the largest number of votes in each of the two categories.

Eligibility

You are eligible to enter, if:

1. You are between the ages of 15 and 35.

2. You have an innovative idea for an enterprise which contributes to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. (SDGs) in your community. or You are operating such an enterprise in the form of a business, a non-profit organization or an informal program.

3. You are able to submit your entry in English.

NB: Citizens of all countries are eligible to apply.

Why is it that non-academic programs are always lavised with uncalculated benefits while academics with little or no tangible reward? How much are we paid for voluminous certificates? Are scholars termite that the only reward is paper?

Maybe, maybe not. You should at least try to pitch out your idea, it will get you closer to achieving your goals concealing it adds no value to it either. By entering the competition you can find someone who may be willing to invest in it. Of what use will the competition be if they have winners already?

You can be rest assure that as long as it is not Nigerian, you stand a good chance of being selected. These scholarships are merit-based.

At 2017 YCEC competition !
I am the only one from Nigeria that made it final under best Project (S-HomeDev). Nigeria also had representative under Best Idea 2017 (AfriEnergy) Anita from FUTO.
We could not make it to best 3 under each categories but we put in our best in presenting well our project and idea. You can give it a try and don't be discourage. The competition gives you platform to develop your idea and project and meet with best brain around the world.....you can make us proud this year and wishing you all the very best.
