Dear sir,

I am just a concerned citizen of this country who wants to know the reason(s) you refused to appear before the Senate to defend and present your cases for the institution you are serving.
In my own ordinary citizen's perspective, I saw it as an opportunity to let the nation know the challenges the police are going through and provide a solution.
I saw this as an opportunity to let the nation know the efforts the police are making to arrest the situation of the Barbaric killings and destruction of properties going on in some part of the middle belt communities and other places.
I also saw it as an opportunity to let the citizens know that the law respects no one if broken in the case of senator dino malaye.
It's an opportunity to strengthen our democracy. And showcase your stewardship.
As an ordinary citizen, we are required to obey invitation from the police and other security arms of the government. It can be a crime in some cases if someone refused to obey.

So I keep wondering why a police chief of our country would totally refused to appear before the Senate.

Sir, it wouldn't be nice not to hear your own side of this matter.

Goodluck Jonathan is the cause of his repeated refusal to appear before the senate.

I expect our human rights activists, NBA and all to have Wade in on this.... Corruption is hitting hard at out constitution

The IG, has already stated his reasons, though petty reasons. Our leaders n lazy youths, never get d bigger picture

In accordance with the extant laws in Nigeria, the functions, duties and responsibilities of the Inspector General of Police as stated in Section 215(1a) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended, and the Police Act and Regulations Section 309(1) can also be carried out as mentioned in sections 7(1),312(1), 313(2) of the Police Act and Regulations by a senior officer of the Force of the Rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police or an Assistant Inspector General of Police who if permitted by the Inspector General of Police to act on his behalf or represent him in an official capacity at any official function, event or programme within and outside Nigeria can do so in consonant with the provisions of the Police Act and Regulations.
