oshytayman: How can a pharmacist be earning 45k per month? I don't believe this trash. As a fresh pharmacist in Ekiti State u earn close to 140k. Even as an intern pharmacist u earn up to around 150k....I think Kwara State is sick, plus other health workers there who sit down n watch in laxity. Ori yin ti foka sibe in Kwara.

An how are u suppose to produce drugs if you dont know the causative organisms and what they are allergic to?

The fact is dat all stake holders are involved. Ranging from physiologist, biochemist, zoologist, pharmacist, microbiologist and some other paramedicals and environmentally inclined field.

You are right and wrong at the same time, my dear. Pharmaceutical Microbiology in pharmacy is not restricted to drugs only, although, biochemists n microbiologists are employed to this, but many companies prefer pharmacists. To better inform you, pharmacy is wide n can help give you a good job flexibility. Bless u.

I didn't say the research on the microorganisms are taken up by the pharmacists but there is an aspect of pharmacy that is into microorganisms known as pharmaceutical microbiology

Now this is interesting already. I just arrived at ilorin and the conference is supposed to start on monday. I'm wondering where the OP got his story from.

But the fact is, the more a country treats her pharmacists well, the safer the health of her citizens..

@Nosike dont forget that this same pharmacists produce the antibiotics used to treat this diseases, so who shud av a very indepth knowledge of microbiology. And perhaps the salary issue is peculiar to kwara state.

Tolexander: Most of these sachet waters aren't pure at all and can be a good culturing medium for microorganisms which are very obvious as tiny particles in them on long storage.

A lot of those pure water companies dont av a distillating machine and some other vital equipments. NAFDAC has failed here.

It's either someone is indirectly blaming NAFDAC or spoiling business for sachet water producers. I also call this junk journalism as the headline is enough to mislead people and cause panic - only the first two paragraphs address the headline. Yes, we know that access to potable water is necessary but without adequate research, you don't just come out and say "pure water CAUSES" - that's a conclusion already.


We live in a vicious cycle anyway - from a government that doesn't provide easy access to clean water to her populace to a government that doesn't do well enough to ensure standards are adhered to in such sensitive industry. At the end of the day, bore holes are highly discouraged, even the Water Resources minister is campaigning against it but her call is just like telling Nigerians not to use generators because of its harmful effects - the people would do theirs to be comfortable and damn the consequences as there are less/no alternatives.

Its well known that Kwara State pays peanut to her workers. So im not surprised a bit.
In my local govt a level 6 health worker takes hme abt 60K not to talk of a level 8 rxist under State govt employ.

whoever wrote this Bull should just shut-up.. na today we dey drink pure water for this country... why cant they just focus on getting an anti-cholera vaccine to save people.... #StupidWhoeverWroteThis
