Osinbajo To Meet With Traders, Others In Kano This Thursday by freakyamanda(op): 12:47pm On May 22, 2018
As part of activities lined up for his official visit to Kano State, vice president, Prof Yemi Osinbajo will on Thursday, May 24, 2018, meet with a section of the over 11,000 beneficiaries of the Federal Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP) MarketMoni in Kano, to assess the impact of the scheme.

GEEP MarketMoni is a federal government Social Intervention Programme (SIP) that provides loans of up to N300,000 to segments of society with the greatest difficulty accessing credit. The scheme is executed by the Bank of Industry (BoI), and it directly impacts traders, market women, artisans, and farmers in all 36 states of the country, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

According to the executive director of BoI, Toyin Adeniji, the programme is aimed at reinvigorating the economy at the base of the pyramid, the hotbed of Nigeria’s financially vulnerable.

“GEEP MarketMoni is unprecedented in Nigeria’s history, granting interest-free credit facilities to existing micro enterprises of market women and traders, artisans, enterprising youth and agricultural workers. It is critical to the federal government’s objective of inclusive growth,” Adeniji said.

This is a very good programme by the federal government, the most painful part is that people who benefit from this type of thing will still come on social media to complain that the FG is not doing well. When a goverment makes it a priority to reach out to the lower class and people at the grassroot level, we should applaud them!

I can see that you are too ignorant, biased and sentimental to see anything good in good. It is obvious you are a bigot and a pessimist.
You can speak for yourself concerning the administration, it is a free world. When you say plunge into abject poverty, have you forgotten that the spill over of the recklessness and open corruption and embezzlement of the past administration got the country into this mess which the present administration is currently cleaning up. I have sense and I see the strategic planning of this administration without any sentiment or bias, unlike you who has a PVC and do not even know which way he is going.

The National Social Intervention Programme has changed the face of our small scale business. it promote our local food produce, create avenue for investing and engaging in agriculture by the youths. Thus, provide employment opportunity for local farmers, local cook and youths in the rural areas. I hail Vice President Osinbajo for his commitment and dedication to all the four cardinal point of the National Social Intervention programme.
