physically there's nothing wrong with that. But it is very wrong spiritually.Let me explain how it defiles a church spiritually.There must be a winner or loser in any soccer game.during the course of the game,the fans of the losing team gets angry,depressed and sad.spiritually,Demons feed off on this negative emotions or energy of anger,sadness and depression.So the fans of the losing team end up filling up the church with negative emotions .Demons now are given the legal right to come into the church in order to feed on those negative emotions as well as possess some people .while the fans of the winning team make fun or mockery of the fans of the losing team.mockery is also a form of negative energy which invites more demons into the church in order to feed.So you can see how a simple thing as watching soccer inside a church gives demons the legal right to come inside the church to feed on negative emotions and possess people.positive emotion bring more the light and presence of God into a church.while negative emotions repels away angels and attract demons into a church

It is used to win soul and preach gospel. At intervals they will break the show and preach the gospel briefly. It is used mostly where there are many bad guys around without future. Remember, mfm has a club and this was how the innovation started before they migrated to having a club. Even many other religions that got converted are now playing for mfm fc.

You can't critize until you understand the intention behind this which may likely be the opportunity to gather a particular group of persons and pass salvation to them.

God is not desperate for souls. If He needs souls to praise and no one shows up, He will simply raise stones to worship Him. Remember He created man from the dust.

40“I tell you, He answered, “if they remain silent, the very stones will cry out.”

Where many got it wrong is not knowing the purpose of the church.

We don't just do anything or organise any program in church.

I guess we would be outraged if most of these so-called churches actually worship God.

All we do these days in church is to listen to feel-good music and listen to motivational speakers tell us how we can be rich and prosper if we make a donation.

As much as I agree with you that football shouldn't be viewed in church, I do not agree with the bolded above. Maybe you should review the context.
