I have ever being wondering why our government does not consider the children's day a full fledged holiday for families to enjoy together.
I think if we ever value Children,we should do them this honour-spending a special day with families around them. Schools mostly take the children for special events in stadiums like Parades,Cultural events,quizzes,etc but most parent will be at work . My parents were not there when I participated in my first Match Pass (parade) while in primary school in Port Harcourt,it felt not so good. How memorable will it be for parents to watch their children on special days like this.
I believe parents share in this opinion.

We have so many irrelevant holidays that keeps all at home e.g Democracy Day,Boxing day,etc. I think Children's day deserves a better place and should be celebrated better with all.
