I don't see anything bad here. Akpabio is way too elderly for the young man.

Yeah thats why it's called mental slavery
And it's not a 'norm'
Billionaires don't like asslickers, they meet 100's of them daily
Try being articulate for a change and hold your head high

Jlow2:
if him go steal or kidnap una go say him do bad, i hav learnt not to eva mind what pple say, dis is naija for GOD sake , that is the norm, politicans and billionaires want to be worshipped and if kneeling down can fetch me a contract, to hell with wat pple say, some have done worse / evil things for politicans, and re condemning him

And this are the youths we want to hand over power to to

I prefer a youth friendly matured politicians than some desperate youth that will be teleguided by unseen hands

I prefer Atiku
No damn youth is ready to take over the leadership of this country.

I say this always and everywhere.
Let the 100 years old keep dealing with us until we can grow some balls and use our brains.

Mumu people ,
So you want him to stand and be discussing business worth millions with akpabio?
The guy is smart and he knows that to get something from Nigeria politicians or elites you have to massage their ego and make them feel important . Many of those condenmin this would have done worse if they had the chance

The kneeling will surely put bread on his table.

I understand the fact that it is far and almost abnormal to the culture, but let me ask you.....will you help this young man if he seeks for one from you?

Just free the young man.
He isn't lazy, all na hustle.

Pride wouldn't make them have a chance.
You are very correct.

The young man used that strategy to sell his market....
He stood and snapped with him when he accomplished his mission.

Can you imagine yourself producing just 5000 branded T-shirt for the up coming 2019 election.

At least your bank account go get alert....

Stop criticizing a business man who have already won a contract...

CastedDude:
An outrage has been sparked among online users after a young man was seen kneeling down before the former state governor; Senator Godswill Akpabio while holding the lawmaker's branded campaign T-shirt as others looked on.

Human rights activist and lawyer, Inibehe Effiong was joined by other netizens who took to Facebook to criticize the senator and the young man after the pictures emerged online. Below is what the lawyer wrote;

It will take decades for us to recover from the brutal damage that Godswill Akpabio has inflicted on the psyche of Akwa Ibom people.

How a man who struggled in Lagos State like I am struggling now before Governor Victor Attah brought him home to serve as a Commissioner suddenly assumed the position of Alpha and Omega baffles me.

The so-called political youths have turned themselves to willing slaves and tools in the hands of a dictator who could not create jobs for them.

What else will make a young and energetic young man to kneel before a fellow human being like him holding a shirt bearing the face of the dictator if not mental slavery and low self-esteem?

Why is it so difficult for these people to see that Akpabio is just an ordinary human being like every other person and not a supernatural being?

This is neither humility nor respect for elders. In Akwa Ibom culture, we do not kneel to greet our elders. We do not even bend to greet.

This is idolatry.

SLAVES IN LOVE WITH THEIR CHAINS.

Which outrage? Look, that was strategic. That's why he is standing to snap after his proposal has been approved. Ask those marketers what they do to mobilise funds. What he did is not criminal neither does he look compelled. At the end of the day, it's the result/numbers/bank alerts that will speak.

Inibehe Okorie is a big fool, and just a charge and bail lawyer. What is wrong with kneeling to an elder. I am from Akwa Ibom State and I can say without mincing words that Senator Akpabio was one of the best Governors that Akwa Ibom State was blessed with. He is so loved amongst all the three major tribes in the state. A broke man that doesn't want God to change his miserable life is always pained when he sees people making progress. Senator Akpabio is human and is not infallible, but calling him a dictator to me is a joke of the century. Whenever I see Akpabio, I see a bold but humble individual that is always ready to help.

We dont need this kind of leadership in naija. We need leaders that are people-friendly. Leaders who will stop that young man from kneeling. You are not a friendly leader when you enjoy watching others kneeling to worshipping you and you see nothing wrong with that. Besides, its primitive, archaeic and out of fashion. You can only see this nonsense in third world African countries. Nigeria seems to be in the 4th or maybe 6th world of backwardness and darkness.

So has it become a bad thing to kneel before an elder? This is Africa and it is part of our culture and tradition to kneel before our elders when talking with them.

This is very wrong.. sometimes I wonder how Nigerians reason.. Why should you kneel down for someone while you are legitimately pursuing your hustle. there are other ways to respect the senator without kneeling down. That is one of the reasons why Nigeria keeps going backward because we worship our leaders. What happened to the man's legs, are they for fancy or what..

Why didn't the senator tell the young man to stand up when he knelt down..that is because he loves being worshiped.

In civilized countries, you dare not kneel down like a slave while relating your ideas to a superior .. If your work is very good and you are talented, you don't need to kneel down to win contracts...

See how former US ingredient Obama relates with those working for him and see how Nigerian politicians relate with their subordinates just because they are more privileged. Nonsense.
is this a civilized country
if you like dn't do like romans when in rome

What else is new? It is a well known fact that Nigerians are slaves to their corrupt political elite. And then you wonder why I resent that country called Nigeria with her docile citizens. Nigerians can't tell their leaders who are oppressing them off but if its to force people to get married, Nigerians will suddenly find their tongues.

I see a man kneeling to make a sell and he's being castigated for it. The ones castigating him properly not doing anything with themselves yet they are attacking this young man.

You don't have to expressed your anger on Barr Inibehe Effiong. If he's claiming to be an activist, how's that your business? Is he the first person to be an activist? Do you know if that is his calling? Yes, he was beaten at Lagos by Governor Ambode security details. Show me a known activist who hasn't suffered beyond what Barr Inibehe Effiong has passed through in the hand of politicians in Nigeria and Akwa Ibom in particular.

Let it be known to you this day, that Barr Inibehe Effiong is at liberty to constructively criticized whoever he chooses and it is none of your business. I am not holding a brief for Barr Inibehe. But at the same time, you should be guided that you can not condition a learned person on who to either support or criticize. Whatever, that exist between Barr Inibehe and Sen. God's will Akpabio or PDP is none of my business, in as much as I strongly believe that Nigerian politics and politicians are like mirage.

I have more to gain if I work for my people than stealing from them. Most people dont understand that that is why they can't sleep peacefully after stealing.
