Nigeria is difficult to love no matter how hard you try. The worst place to be an Igbo is in Nigeria. At any slightest ( political and religious) provocation they are likely to be killed in some places where agelong ethnic hatred is still naked. Some uninformed Nigerians will tell you how the ( Igbo ) started the fire of bloodletting in Nigeria, tracing it back to the coup of January 15, 1966 - plotted and executed by Nzeogwu and other Nigerians alike, including Adewale Ademoyega, Tijani Katsina etc.

But we must today unequivocally dismiss this distortion of reality, by reminding them that the first barbaric incident in which Igbo people were killed in hundreds took place in Jos on 22 June 1945 by northerners. Not even one soul was charged by the British regime nor any attempt made to know the cause of the gruesome massacre. Do you know that tens of thousands of pounds sterling worth of their property were either looted or destroyed? The second massacre of the Igbo happened in 1953 in Kano. Lives were lost as well, and the Igbo were asked to forgive and move on. "Forgive and move on" that is how to be an Igbo in Nigeria. Did the Igbo revenge over death of their people in 1945?

Because the first military coup was tagged an "Igbo Coup", therefore death must be the penalty. Fantastically, the coup carried by Gideon Orkar was never regarded as Tiv Coup.Then between October 1966, more than 30,000 Igbo people were happily massacred in Northern Nigeria, and between October 1966 and June 1967 more than 100,000 more were killed. There were situations where pregnant women were killed, unborn babies plucked out of their wombs and killed as well. Thousands were killed as a pay back time for a coup that was to save the infant country from sumptuous decays of corrupt politicians who took Nepotism, Bribery, political crises, thuggery, tribalism etc. to Golan Height.

The Igbo and other easterners went back home to have peace of mind. They refused to belong to a country where they can't be protected. A country where they cannot live freely like the birds of the earth. The Federal government said no that must come back. They were enjoying their newly found republic when the Federal government struck first at Garkem. After the war, millions of Easterners were killed and women were raped to unite a country that has never shown any green light of unity from the beginning. How sweet? And they were asked to move on as usual. Yet, people write fanciful grammar as if nothing happened. Ours is the most unfair story ever. Those who committed war crimes are still being celebrated daily.

From 1980 till today I am writing this, history has recorded so much about the massacres of the Igbo in Northern parts of Nigeria -- in Kano, Kaduna, Zaria, Maiduguri, Gombe, Bauchi, Jos. It is endless.

Today, they're killed in their land. If IPOB members jump up, sleep or kiss in the name of Biafra they'll be shot and nothing will happen, while the Fulani herdsmen should be paid to stop killing their fellow Nigerians. Una well done o!

You've got your thinking back-to-front! How can you hold a gun to their heads to remain in 'one Nigeria' while saying they should go back to Alaigbo to prevent being massacred in the north! There is no other part of Nigeria as militarized as the Southeast, not even the boko haram infested northern Nigeria.
Every 15 minutes drive you must meet a military check point, sometimes even less than 5 minutes drive especially here in Aba.
If you doubt me drive from Osisioma to Alaoji spare parts market and see if you will not meet about 4 or 5 military check points. A journey of not more than 10 minutes.
The question that always comes to the mind of a new visitor is, 'this must be a war zone or there is crisis in the land'.
But some people believe that it's okay because we live in ONE NIGERIA.

everybody is different and react differently to things,... dat u enjoy killing or being killed and often roll over whenever the spree is on doesn't mean others must do likewise. .. u see some others love the one and only precious life given to them by God and are prepared to go any length to safeguard it.
