Jayjay is arguably the best player every produced in Africa, he wasn't lucky enough to win individual awards

He is world class, no doubt but i do not believe in luck, he was killed by the average nigerian mentality. when he was at his prime, the showboating was so much without any meaningful end product, it was towards the end of his career the he started to show full maturity but it was too late.Assuming he matured earlier a ballon D'or might not be far from him but the nigerian mentality of celebrating show boating instead of efficiency killed him.........after argentina beats nigeria again in the world cup by a goal margin, you will see some nigerians saying " at least we tried, it is not more than a goal margin and we even have more ball possession " i hate such utterances around me, it reeks of mediocrity.

You didn't mention Victor Ikpeba. Afterall he was African footballer of the year. They could have picked him ahead of Jay Jay abi? Awards sometimes fail to tell the whole story sometimes. I am sure Jay Jay's longevity and global popularity makes FIFA regret not making him get a critical award.

lol!! you got it, his signature then was dribble two or more players, shoots over the bar and spits on the field and then smile. It is a big pain for me saying this because he is one player i adore for the raw footballing skill he possessed, he played for fun, assuming he met people who could have change his orientation then, we might be saying a different thing now.

He's actually correct. Okocha was a once-in-millenia kind of player, but there should be end product and trophies to accompany tricks and flicks. As far as I'm concerned, his talent is on the same level as Ronaldinho's or even better, but Dinho is a better player. Why? End product. Trophies. Accolades.

It's not a matter of luck. It's efficiency. End product. He dribbled his way into the hearts of admirers worldwide but dribbled himself out of contention for trophies and accolades in the process.
