But is there any clear maintenance strategy for these buses in place?

Things to keep in mind:
1. The life-cycle of each bus should not be less than 10
2. Replacement buses should be in place before any of the buses expires
3. A friendly infrastructure that will accommodate the buses and the passengers should be in place before starting the operation
4. Drivers and other staff should go through training before starting the operation
5. There should be a plan in place for the folks that will be out of job because of this new bus operation

Anything less, and all these buses will turn into Molu-e in less than a year.

And something tells me that these basic things are not in place, as our government/ leaders are known to operate with no common sense

Stop saying this. BRTs are well kept. I guess you are referring to the red buses as also part of BRT. The BRTs are the blue buses not the red ones. I still boarded BRT today with 24hr AC , free internet connection and Tv connection.

The BRT plies Ikorodu to Lagos Island, while these ones will route Oshodi to Iyana Ipaja and Kola side.

More buses that wont be maintained would end up looking like molues in about a year!

My thoughts exactly, Lagos is developing on a daily basis and some shallow minded will be driving the city backward...even the busses that are being used to carry animals in Europe is better than our own mighty danfo

This is a relieve,those danfo buses are menace,I hope they have maintenance plans in place,also they should do well not to overload the buses and litter.
