I seriously doubt that this eyesore of a School is in custody of the Catholic Church...they have a reputation for academic excellence. If only that were the case, everyone would be the happier for it as they also have the financial muscle to renovate and turn the school around. But this is beyond shameful to all of us Nigerians; there really are no words. How on earth did we get here, and more importantly, how do we get out of this place where the country is?

the deputy governor is from there, pls stop building town halls. Gov. Udom's education policy is zero.udom is wrong here.

Sometime back, there was a video of Kenyan prisoners receiving lessons that would help them after prison life. As is typical with many nairalanders who delude themselves that Nigeria is the giant of africa, one person boasted that Nigerian Prisons are better than Kenyan prisons. I said what i believed to be true "Maybe its because Nigeria values its criminals more than it values its students" Now I know. Nigeria is a true $hithole of Africa. What kind of nonsense is this?

its so unfortunate for a state like akwaibom with all the oil money their leaders center on building physical structure than human capital. i cry why? always ... while in lagos this so called state has the highest petty workers in factories , constructions companies and house helps but the men in power are more interesting in building massive building as a showpiece neglecting education, the 21st century greatest investment in life. however, a stadium like that of Akwaibom can build 30 good school of Greenspring or Avecina . oh send our rescue agent

The Government refused to return the school to the Church when they (church) demanded for it.

He is correct...cos I attended that school. SMASCIANS!!!

Only one word to explain this. WICKEDNESS. How can the government allow this kind of place to be used as a place for learning. I just don't get it. The psychological state of the teachers and students should be checked too.

This is so DISTURBING!!!!

I'm telling you. Most of my female mates went to the school (next to Adahia Obong) and it was renowned then. Today, when I ask, which school will you send your kids to? They mention Monef, Top Faith, Rayfield, Esteem High School and the likes.

Godswill should have done more beyond declaring free education (which is a ridiculous policy on its own). I'm disappointed in the state's leaders considering the funds at their disposal. But then, they are Nigerians.

still cant get the fact how a former principal wept and cried how how the govt neglected the school even when students where topping waec in the country.

same principal ( mr c.. asukka) became the perm secc of education and still did notin to a school that made him respected among his peer.

to me st mary is cursed, funny how a primary school in same premises is far better than the secondary itself.

The irony of science and education in general in Nigeria.
