it does not melt easily in water rather it floats on top of the water until the boiling and heat of the water causes emulsification.

It’s actually not fake, a new variant has been made, only for eating bread. As you can see we now have :
* Blue band ‘original’ with thick blue cover
&
*Blue band ‘spread for bread’ with light blue cover

So don’t use the latter for cooking!

And the case is sorted I believe.
Blue band mgt is saying their product do not dissolve in boiling water (a bad one for them to me). That it only dissolves when boiled.

Well 'This is Nigeria' where anything goes. Nafdac & SON are just reactionary n never diligent and thorough in monitoring n inspection. Common Coke n Fanta is not same wt other countries'. A standard given to bottling n juice companies by Nafdac.

My conclusion is simple. Adults avoid blueband n other margarine products (never good for ya heart) ok? For younger ones myb the blueband with lighter blue color.
Avoid abeg the deep blue color blueband abeg until we are sure whatever that is n meant for. Myb it's grease turned butter : grin

Happened to me but with Just Margarine.

Dubious retailers erased the authentic expiry date and stamped on it a valid but fake expiry date.
It tasted like margarine that had gone through radiation.
