QuotaSystem:He was trying to be clever by half. He gave all sorts of unserious meanings to a simple question which wants to know who is likely to contest against PMB early next year. For God's sake how many months have we to the election? Are Nigerians not entitled to know to enable them make up their minds? Since I was born I have not seen an election with an opposition as disorganized as we have now. So with all the money they accummulated over the years they are too self- centred to organize themselves into a semblance of a credible opposition? All that u hear is that someone in Aso Rock is on codeine or tramadol. Is that how to replace Buhari? |

Whenever that question is asked, of course I am one of those that ask the question, it does not mean that out of the population of Nigeria that buhari is the only one qualified. In fact, he might be among the least qualified when you take away the issue of integrity, focus and mental toughness among all the required qualities for a person at that level. Having said that, I will therefore inform you that among those jostling for the seat, Atiku, Lamido, makarafi, dakwambo, Fayose, morghalu, sowore etc. Apart from morghalu who has not been tested, though he has a mouth watering CV at his disposal, there is nothing spectacular about others. And because the project of choosing Nigerian president is a very serious one, it therefore means that the likes of Fayose are not even under consideration. Atiku may have the rhetorics passing a message that goes to the sensibility of many Nigerians, like the message of restructuring he has been saying very loud. But Nigerians don't trust him. Like he has been talking about giving the youths chance. But, at about 70 years of age, he is still contesting. Is he a youth at that age? Morghalu on paper looks like what we need, but that office demands much more than that. Besides, he is in a minority party. Nigerians have always voted majority party. Even the writer of this article just like many other Nigerians will not remember any other person during the coming election except the candidates of APC and PDP. This common attitude of Nigerians will also rub us off Morghalu and other seemingly good candidates who will come from other minority party, just as it has happened in the past. The likes of Lamido, sowore, dakwambo etc are mere pretenders. They don't have the national appeal to meet the popularity of buhari. So In all, among those that have shown interest, its either they are not better candidates or they don't have what it takes to win against buhari. |

elrony:The world over, people have been losing jobs. Nigerians have been losing jobs since the creation of jobs. As people lose jobs, others gain jobs. As long as you have your two hands, you have a fighting chance. It's not enough to have certificates, value will always get you jobs. Opportunities are everywhere but we wait on government to provide one. No leader who has the interest of Nigerians at heart would have done anything differently to move the country from the grasp of a few individuals. The fact is, people will still whine as long as the narrative does not meet their individual wants (even if angel Gabriel is at the helms of affairs). 2019 I encourage you to vote your best candidate who will change our status. My advice: Don't vote based on ethnic sentiment. Don't vote based on exchanged of a few Naira or material promise. We can't afford another bandwagon of rogues in government. If you present yourself in 2019 and impressed me with your track records, better than Buhari, even if it's grassroot accomplishments, you shall have my vote bro. Peace |

Highbrow:If there are no opponents in a contest, the only candidate is declared the winner. It's even foolhardy for any party to present its candidate in the eleventh hour to contest against PMB. Any party planning alternative candidates should have started before now to present his achievements and value proposition. Nigeria will build on PMB's legacy after him. |

In 2007 i voted Yaradua, in 2011 i voted Jonathan(got disappointed) and in 2015 i voted Buhari, reason been the massive looting with impunity going on in Jonathan"s administration and sincerely i have not be disappointed with Buhari"s government fight against corruption. Now, the question Vote Buhari out and who in who? is very valid, cause there is no candidate that has the will(political or economical) to fight corruption as these government will do. Secondly, in the history of Nigeria politics no government has come in with the fight against corruption as its Agenda. only this present government.. Nigeria would have been s saner Nation by now if successive government had come out to say NO to corruption.. Less i forget the EFCC under Jonathan was like a toothless bulldog... |

Highbrow:When I saw the title of your thread I was so excited that at last someone is reasoning along this rarely walked path but when I read through the content, you actually took the discussion towards a different drection. Nigeria and Nigerians do the same thing everytime but they expect a different result, is this not the definition of insanity!!!. Everybody is screaming GO GET YOUR PVC! but have we sat down to ask who exactly we are all going to vote for against Buhari . Who are the credible avaliable options that have bravely come out to make themselves avaliable for service? Ive spoken to a lot of people about getting their PVC in readiness for the upcoming election but they always ask me thesame question too, who are we going to replace buhari with? Nigerians were so desperate to kick out PDP that they settled for the nearest thing they saw and we are in the verge of making thesame mistake again. There are a lot of them out there but the only ones you tend to hear of are the former governors and former vice president all key members of THE PROBLEM OF NIGERIA CLUB. There are some very young and sound accomplished young brains who have distinguished themselves in there various fields of endeavour who are currently offering themselves for service to our nation but many people do not know them. Let me use this opportunity to mention a few of them for the benefit of the young and revolutionary voters out there. 1.Kingsley Moghalu---- -Professor of Practice in International Business and Public Policy at Tufts University -Attended UNN and LSE (PhD) -President of the Institute of Governance and Economic Transformation -Former United Nations official -Former CBN deputy governor 2. Funmilayo Adesanya-Davies--- -Professor of Language and Communication Arts at the Rivers State University of Education -Degrees from the Universities of Ilorin, Port Harcourt, and Northwestern University 3. Thomas-Wilson Ikubese---- -Chief Medical Director of Sckye Hospital and Diagnostics Limited -Attended the University of Benin School of Medicine and Surgery -Also a poet, motivational speaker, radio and television presenter 4. Omoyele Sowore---- Founder and owner of Sahara Reporters -Degrees from the University of Lagos and Columbia University -Lecturer at the City University of New York and the School of Arts, New York -Also a writer, public speaker, and human rights activist 5. Enyinnaya Nnaemeka Nwosu --- Former lecturer at West George College -Degrees from Asia State University and Robert Gordon University -Worked with the Royal Bank of Scotland, SERCO Group, the Legal Aid Agency, and Her Majesty’s Courts and Tribunals in the UK 6. Tope Fasua ---- -CEO of Global Analytics Consulting Ltd. -Degrees from Ondo State University, London Business School, and Harvard Business School -National Chairman of the Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party (ANRP) -Also a newspaper columnist and TV analyst Just to mention a few |

this is a good question and its worth asking, because you cant come out to say that we should vote Buhari out when we don't have a better replacement, for me i have not seen a better replacement for him. i am not saying that he is the only person who can rule Nigeria very well but i believe Buhari is still the better option for 2019.let us remember that the patriotic Nigerians voted him in because they believed that he can rule the country very well and still believe that he will give Nigerians the change if given the chance. |
