Corruption is the only problem of Nigeria and its children of injustice, unrighteousness, absence of mercy and truth, etc, and grand children of striking,

Read and understand well.

It's a fault of the state government. Blame your governor. Not everything is Buhari's fault.

If you know where we are coming from, you would appreciate the enormous resources used to bring Akwa Ibom up to where it is today

Most people in Nigeria call Akwa Ibom "Calabar", and that was because before Akpabio, Uyo and Akwa Ibom as a whole was just some town you pass through going to Calabar where everything was happening

Now Akwa Ibom host international matches, has airport, modern roads networks and flyovers

Now Akwa Ibom is a destination, no longer a pass through.

Let's say, infrastructural development has been achieved to a large extent, Education and industrialization is now priority to this government.
After many years of embargo, teachers now being recruited. Schools rebuilt.

More still need to be done no doubt but the government is on track
what you have even shown in sane climates doesn't qualify to be a school at all

they are all dividends of democracy, till when people are held accountable for their position in office then naija will move forward. you will see someone that can not maintain a single car because he/she ventures into politics they own fleets of cars. all those saboteurs in government needs to be flushed out. a medical doctor employed by government will be running a private clinic simultaneously, a teacher employed by government will not want to meet up with his/her curriculum instead will advise student to come their private lesson classes.

I am very sure the people from this zone will come up and blame the current governor for this. I hope he does something about this,

The former governor was from this zone and if he had done justice the deterioration shouldn't reach this stage

So this is the Saint John Paul school whose billboard is along Oron Road? Wow!

Just like everything regarding the country, I am totally disappointed in the system. And honestly, regarding public primary & secondary schools, I don't see things getting better. Majority of the top private schools are owned by former government officials. From Monef (former commissioner of education) to Rayfield (by Edem Duke) to Top Faith (another government official) to Esteem, Tower of Ivory, Graceland etc.

Certainly, things are not good and won't get better. But yeah! He is building an ecumenical centre in the city center. Abasi sosongo! cheesy

The country is indeed a failure. If this is the "best performing state government" in Nigeria then we are finish. Personally, I refuse to believe that we will ever get anywhere developmentally through democracy.

I've drawn this conclusion because the salaries, entitlements, benefits and emoluments of public servants (political office holders and civil servants) which is 75% of the nations income, makes it impossible to develop as the 25% is not enough to build and maintain the much needed basic infrastructure for 150 million people.

A responsible military government can stop all of this nonsense. It would also rein-in our run-amok and highly corrupt judiciary which is responsible for lack of prosecution of corrupt public servants. The judges collect bribes and destroy corruption cases brought to their courts, and it is the bribe monies that the Judges collect that are used to build all the housing estates in Lekki Beach in Lagos, while the states from which the monies were stolen from remain villages.

Sad to say but Nigeria will never develop under this scam democracy that we practice.

It is hopeless and sad to be a Nigerian.

This is no longer about restructuring, mark my words. This is about man's inhumanity to man. This is a continuous struggle between the haves and have nots.
Even if every street is given its own government, as long as wicked and desperate charlatans continue to dictate what should happen, we will keep getting the results we have.
It's alarming and unfortunate that I'm a product of the Nigerian education. This is not what I bargained for.

My dear the matter is complicated. Do you think it would be the right thing to cut off civil service? Many would lose their redundant jobs and that in itself will create another social problem that we might not be able to tackle.

Fulani Jihadist have nothing to do with this. Please leave them out of this. The truth is politicians are thieves ( if this is truly the current state of these schools). Not until there is a legislations in place compelling their wards to attend government owned schools, the decay will continue.
Re: Decay In Public Schools In Akwa Ibom (Photos, Video) by Nobody:
Government workers do not add value to the economy. They depress growth and suck resources needed for development. Our stage of development dictate that we should invest more on infrastructure and spend less on benefits for public servants. Most of the jobs in the civil service do not exist.

Majority of the civil servants are political hacks who were enrolled in the service as political compensation. The question really is: what about the rest of us? If few people take everything for themselves, what about the rest of society. Should we go away? Sanusi, as central bank governor, advocated for a smaller and leaner civil service, so enough monies are left for development.

The way to achieve this is for government to engage the civil servants in productive and value-adding work. There's not enough food in the country. Massive plantations can be setup and some civil servants can be pushed to work there, instead of sitting in offices looking for who to block or collect bribes from.

Go to a typical government office today and see if you can breath without some useless civil servant preventing you from achieving what you went there for unless you give them bribes. Ever tried to register a business at Corporate Affairs Commission? Ever tried to get a Drivers License? Ever tried to clear imported goods from Apapa Wharf? Ever tried to move agriculture produce from one part of the country to another? Try it and see if the civil servants would let you.

This country is indeed tiring and if majority of us remain hopeless and helpless for long, the alternative would be to pick up arms and engage in violent criminal activity. Nigeria is a hell-hole not worth living in!

If everyone travels out, who will fix the country? Are Americans or Germans or folks from Dubai travelling out and abandoning their country? Besides, what if some of us can't travel out? The answer is not to run away. The answer is to stay and fight for the development of our homeland and ofcourse, I would be naive to say the fight for nation building excludes death.

Read the history of the rise of the present-day Israel (not the Biblical story). You will see that Israel was just as corrupt and underdeveloped like Nigeria pre-2nd world war until their citizens returned home en-masse after the holocaust.

After being exterminated by Hitler in millions, Israelis got angry for running away from their homeland thus, majority of them who lived outside Israel return and restled power from the corrupt mediocres who were running the country - kinda what is going on in Nigeria.

Today, Israel is a first class nation because of that sacrifice and courage. Instead of running away, it is time Nigerians stay in Nigeria and fight for the soul of this country.

You can now see where majority of the budgeted amount were spent. How can govt maintain public schools when their children are either in private schools in Nigeria or in schools abroad? We have heartless politicians in Nigeria and I feel those from Akwa Ibom are evil because they are just too selfish and wicked. Most of these politicians are alumni of some of these dilapidated schools. Just go through their profile. They should just fear God cry cry

I don't think this issue has anything 2do with d north. I agree with u concerning d lopsidedness in d way revenue is shared. D question u should b asking is what happened 2d funds allocated 2 education in d state all these years? No matter how little it was, it shouldn't b this bad, where kids are now sleeping on bare floor. This has been d state of public education 4 years and no one cares. If u go 2d north, I don't think d story is any better. Its d same corruption, where those charged with d responsibility of providing education are diverting d funds and use same 2 send their kids abroad

I reason with you 99%.
One thing remains lacking though.
We hate each other. Right here on this forum. The curses, the insults. The praises for the corrupt politician, the praises for the "so called" men of God who "beat, embezel, kidnap, confuse, fornicate" with their followers. The disregard for Education and the acceptance of ignorance and illiteracy (from the spelling errors, you will know them).

It should be a crime for anybody with an unexplained source of income should be punished. In western world, once a public office holder is suspected of illegal earnings, that person feels SO MUCH REMORSE that he leaves the public office UNTIL such investigation is completed before he resumes BY HIMSELF. it is called conscience.
-
We are no longer a people. And hardly do we fight for the same reasons any more. I fear any violent outbreak because any such will quickly derail and lead to intertribal wars. Nobody knows what "NIGERIA" means. But everybody knows what "MY VILLAGE" means.
