I blame the parasite north and their allies if Akwa ibom was a country with its enormous oil and low population it would be in the league of Kuwait and co but instead their money is spent on backward loving Sharia parasite like Zamfara and co not forgetting their corrupt leaders too
This has nothing to do with the parasitic North. What has AKS been doing with the remaining money after the parasitic North has taken the bulk of it? Nothing as shown in the pictures above. The truth is corruption is real and everywhere in Nigeria. It cuts across all tribes, religions, states and geopolitical zones. In fact that's what connects all of us especially our leaders (i.e meaning that's the only thing that makes us one Nigeria)

Sad. But the saddest part is that most of us will start viewing this from the angle of APC and PDP, North and South, Muslims and Christians whereas to the elites who are responsible for this, it is rich and poor...

I don't think this issue has anything 2do with d north. I agree with u concerning d lopsidedness in d way revenue is shared. D question u should b asking is what happened 2d funds allocated 2 education in d state all these years? No matter how little it was, it shouldn't b this bad, where kids are now sleeping on bare floor. This has been d state of public education 4 years and no one cares. If u go 2d north, I don't think d story is any better. Its d same corruption, where those charged with d responsibility of providing education are diverting d funds and use same 2 send their kids abroad
These are the intellectually lazy people who blame others for everything. If you bother to read article the would see the state budgeted billions of naira to education and hundreds of millions to renovations with nothing to show. These clowns domt have anything to say.

When Godswill Akpabio was governor, the budget for education in the state in 2014 and 2015 was N10.9 billion and N16.7 billion respectively.

Five hundred million and N450 million was budgeted for the sector in 2014 and 2015 respectively for the renovation and refurbishing of buildings, including the provision of facilities, in 124 secondary and primary schools in the state.

The administration’s plan then, as documented in the budget, was to pick four secondary schools and four primary schools for renovation in each of the 31 local government areas in the state.

If everyone travels out, who will fix the country? Are Americans or Germans or folks from Dubai travelling out and abandoning their country? Besides, what if some of us can't travel out? The answer is not to run away. The answer is to stay and fight for the development of our homeland and ofcourse, I would be naive to say the fight for nation building excludes death.

Read the history of the rise of the present-day Israel (not the Biblical story). You will see that Israel was just as corrupt and underdeveloped like Nigeria pre-2nd world war until their citizens returned home en-masse after the holocaust.

After being exterminated by Hitler in millions, Israelis got angry for running away from their homeland thus, majority of them who lived outside Israel return and restled power from the corrupt mediocres who were running the country - kinda what is going on in Nigeria.

Today, Israel is a first class nation because of that sacrifice and courage. Instead of running away, it is time Nigerians stay in Nigeria and fight for the soul of this country.
Isreal had the full support of the U.S.A though. Nigerian mindset no just pure at all. Which young person is ready to lead a revolution to push out the corrupt leaders? No one is willing to die for that struggle but people are dying daily and no one is saying anything. The people of benue, nassarawa should even carry the revolutionary talks on their head but no one is saying anything.
In sane climes, that politician linked to a bank robbery would have resigned or ousted out of his position but what do we have here

Akwa Ibom receives the highest federal allocation in Nigeria. This means no amount of resources would ever be enough for the state. Government officials would always divert funds.

Akwa Ibom, Rivers receive highest as FAAC disbursement increased 25% in 2017
A state-by- state breakdown of the FAAC allocations in 2017 by the review showed that Akwa Ibom State received the highest share of N143.6 billion, followed by Rivers State with a total allocation of N119.6 billion.

So this is the Saint John Paul school's whose billboard is along Oron Road? Wow!

Just like everything regarding the country, I am totally disappointed in the system. And honestly, regarding public primary & secondary schools, I don't see things getting better. Majority of the top private schools are owned by former government officials. From Monef (former commissioner of education) to Rayfield (by Edem Duke) to Top Faith (another government official) to Esteem, Tower of Ivory, Graceland etc.

Certainly, things are not good and won't get better. But yeah! He is building an ecumenical centre in the city center. Abasi sosongo! cheesy
I doubt Topfaith chairman has ever occupied any political position.

one thing with these governors is that they will focus on their capital city where outsiders can easily see and forget the rural communities. who are they deceiving. with their GDP, this should be the least of their worries.

This calls for sober reflection as much as Udom is trying in that State, I think this is a call to serve more in the educational sector of the State and he should rise to the occasion to fix this rot.

Udom is the worst thing that have happened to the state............infact he is the worst governor Akwa Ibom has ever had.

His propaganda machinery is as oiled as Buhari's own if not more

Akwa Ibom has a body called Inter-Ministerial Committee set up right from the days of Victor Attah to fix social amenities like public school renovation, primary health center renovation, construction of inner urban streets and rural roads, provision of potable water and rural electrification as well as other small scale projects that does not require huge funding and state machinery to handle.

These projects are always awarded to local contractors to build their competencies as well as circulate money around the lower class as the contractors will always employ local labour and source materials locally.

This has been ongoing from Attah down to Akpabio gradually covering decay that has existed in those areas for decades until this slowpoke came on board. He declared to whoever wanted to listen that there is no money just like his master buhari and shut down most ongoing work that was started during the previous administration.

He crippled the Inter-Ministerial Committee works that was garnering momentum during Akpabio's time and every thing came to a halt.

A lot of people hail Akpabio because he empowered local contractors by funding the committee's work resulting in multiple small-scale projects (i listed above) across the state enabling money to flow among labourers, market women, transporters and other lower class folks...

It seems this set of government (politicians of 2015-2019 across all level) caters only to the elite......an elitist government in power
