Portuguese newspaper ‘Record‘ has sensationally claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo will depart Real Madrid this summer.



Their front page on Thursday morning led with the headline: “Cristiano Ronaldo will leave Real Madrid”, leaving little doubt to its connotations.

The report will undoubtedly stun Real supporters but it sure seems his decision is allegedly down to Florentino Perez failing to uphold his promises.

Economic issues will not be the problem for the 33-year-old forward, however, a lack of recognition, leaving Ronaldo to look at Serie A, Ligue 1 or the Premier League as his potential destinations.

These claims echo similar reports in Spain, wherein ‘AS’ report that Jorge Mendes had met with Madrid representatives but that the players and clubs demands were on opposite ends of the spectrum.

They add that offering Ronaldo a contract extension isn’t a priority for ‘Los Blancos’ and the search has allegedly already begun to seek out his potential successor…
