It shouldn't just end in dismissal. They should be prosecuted.

Nonsense. Until the law is fully enacted to punish offending force men, things like this will continue. Do these force men undergo training at all? I recently watched an old movie(police academy) and was impressed with the way the officers were trained, though in a comical way. You can tell that some of the training drills are truly done and some more would have been introduced. However, i can bet that the training done in that movie (dated late 80's) is yet to reach Nigeria

please you people should pause for a moment and ask what led to the use of the tear gas by the police,the police may not be perfect just as there is none of us that is perfect but I know how difficult policing work is any where in the world, there seems to be an unrestrained n undefined hatred for the police in Nigeria without an equal effort to finding out the root causes of the problem n yet we still expect the police to perform miracles where as most of us are wanting in our civic responsibilities, even if the police were to be scrapped today n a brand new body is established with the same conditions of the police today I'm sure the result will be worse, some people now feel been confrontational with police is an act of bravery, pls let's do some reflections n not just spontaneous condemnation all the time.

Yesterday News Went viral After a man was spotted unconscious After been shot by SARS, however contrary to the reports, The Nigerian police in a statement said it was teargas and not Bullet that left him unconscious, read their statement below!

PRESS RELEASE:
POLICE MEN INVOLVED IN THE OJOTA CHINESE TOWN SAGA ARRESTED AND DETAINED ... The attention of the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP IMOHIMI EDGAL, was drawn to an online news credited to OAKTVOnline on Instagram with the caption " A yet-to-be-identified man has allegedly been shot by operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS ) at Chinese town, Ojota area of. ......" Based on this report, the CP Lagos, immediately activated the Command X-Squad section in collaboration with the Divisional Police Officer, Ogudu Division, CSP Gbenga Olorunfemi, to fish out the policemen involved in matter.
Their findings revealed that the victim by name, Ademuwagun Temitope Solomon was not shot by operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) as reported by the online media but suffered from the inhalation of tear-gas spray a.k.a pepper spray occasioned by a neighbourhood police patrol team attached to Area-H- Command, Ogudu, Lagos. The infamous patrol team was led by Inspr Momoh Sulaiman assisted by Sgt. Monday Emmanuel. The victim had been revived.
However, the investigating team had arrested and detained the police men involved on the orders of the Command Commissioner of Police, CP Imohimi Edgal. Their trial will commence today 09/06/2018 and if found guilty of offence of incivility to a member of the public and unlawful exercise of authority, they could face punishment as severe as dismissal.

But on a serious note if you don't fear the Nigerian police then you are as good as a dead man.

In delta state sometimes in 2013 a woman was kidnapped and the kidnappers demanded for 15million which was later negotiated to 5million for her release. But her family couldn't come up with the amount and out of frustration and anger she was killed by the kidnappers and her body dumped by the road side since her son in the US refused to pay.

Typical of the Nigerian police, few days after some boys were paraded as the kidnappers. They were already beaten up with swollen faces and confessed to the crime, but as God will have it after about a year it turns out that a young man in the neighborhood was having an altercation with his live-in baby mama (girlfriend) and she unwittingly while raining abuses on him mentioned about the kidnap case.

That was how neighbors apprehended the guy and took him straight to the police station, after BETTER interrogation he confessed to the crime and lead the police to the arrest of his gang members.

Now my question is: who were the people that the police showed to the public few months ago as the suspects
Are these innocent civilians that were just arrested randomly or inmates that were brought out just to show us that they were working.

The video of the incident is online, it is not teargas, the poor boy was shot.

I don’t know why Police have to lie like this, unless the perpetrator feed high command with the above fabrications and they didn’t brother to validate the veracity before running to the press.

We already have laws. The news report by the police mentioned 2 laws they will be tried on. Enforcement has always been our problem

after reading this rubbish by the commissioner of pol. I ve been sitting here giving a thought to how many times i have seen SARS carrying teargas on the street....
