By the way in Nigeria, we have entrepreneurs who make phones and laptops too. SOLO phone is one of them. l would begin to fill this place with Nigerian manufacturers bit by bit. They are just too many.

There is no phone or laptop manufacturing going on there - you cannot jump from zero manufacturing to HIGH TECH manufacturing - you cannot jump from informal trade - to formal trade. You need to start making genuine baby steps - not RE-BADGING CHINESE laptops, phones & cars. Start like Ethiopia by taking really low cost no-brains manufacturing - where you can utilize the 200M nigerians to do the bare minimum - then slowly and slowly - reach Kenya stage - then South Africa - then start dreaming about making a laptop -

Right now there is basically no manufacturing going on - just import chinese FINISHED goods - and re-packaging, re-branding & re-badging

The distribution channels are still primitive - corner shops.

You have a long way to go to formalize your economy.

Manufacture a simple bolt or toothpick - before you go into high tech stuff like laptops. Assembling and selling computer CLONES - that any fool can do.
