In Miami US, customers can now place their order with any of 70 participating businesses including restaurants and shopping malls.

On a normal day, a delivery worker rings your doorbell and the goods you’ve ordered are handed over to you.

But how will a self-driving van without an human intervention deliver a good?

To deliver it to customers, an access code is entered by the Postmate's employee and the ordered items are placed inside a locker at the back or beside the van.

When the self-driving van arrives at the destination ,the customer gets a text message to alert him/her.

To retrieve the goods, the secret code will then be imputed to open the locker.

Ford says “Ultimately, we are testing how businesses and consumers interact with a self-driving vehicle" and that they will deploy a fully self-driving delivery service by 2021.

This is a good development. Hopefully these vans will be used to deliver cannabis very soon.

On a serious note, one cannot help but wonder how armed robbers will earn their living in Nigeria, when this sort of driver-less vehicle hits the roads there. How does one go about holding up a van that carries no humans ? This is a predicament to be considered by our industrious men of the underworld.

I'm sure the vehicle is fully tracked with V-GPS and A-GPS enabled alongside Live time monitoring.... You would only hijack such vehicle if you wanna get on the front page of news papers....

And we’re still battling SARS issue in Nigeria
embarassed

Lemme drop this here:

Before you condemn people’s choice of lifestyle

Countless number of times, I have seen people try to portray the likes of Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Aliko Dangote e.t.c as rich people who don’t live a flashy lifestyle just because they don’t wear “Gucci” and all other designers considered as “flashy/classy” being worn by Hushpuppi and all other celebrities. I can’t help but laugh at their ignorance.

Taking the owner of Facebook as an example, they say he “ordinary plain grey T-shirts” despite having a net worth of over 72 billion USD. Have you ever tried checking out how much each of the T-shirt costs? In case you’re not informed, each of them costs around $300-$400 and he has lots and lots and lots of them. There are even rumors he doesn’t wear a T-shirt twice. So you can imagine how wearing $2100-$2800 worth of “ordinary plain grey T-shirts” a week portrays you as being “simple”.

Do you even know he spent $100 million on buying two properties on Kauai Island in 2014 alone? He has several other properties which amounts to millions of dollars. Now is that still a “simple” life? Bill Gates owns a house that costs $123 million and he’s a “simple” man just because he doesn’t wear Gucci?

The fact that people spend money on what they wear doesn’t mean they don’t have investments/businesses. A person buys an iPhone X/Samsung S9 plus and the next thing people say is “He should have bought a land in Ibeju”, “Why didn’t he invest that money on cryptocurrency?”, “Oh, he is living a fake life. He should have invested the money on landed properties”. Do you know if the person in question has built two houses in Ibeju already? Do you know if he has a substantial amount of digital currencies? Do you even know if he doesn’t like the idea of doing business at all?

The point is, we all have different personalities and what entices or makes us happy are distinct from one another. We all have different mentalities. So, if man A decides to spend HIS money on clothing and fashion items, man B might decide to spend HIS on buying cars. Man C might decide to spend it on houses. This doesn’t mean man A is trying to be flashy or man C is a “simple” man. It all depends on what makes you happy.

Everyone is entitled to his/her own kind of lifestyle!

This is what happens when the government of a country supports indigenous businesses. The American government, for example, buys all their cars from American car companies (Ford, GM, Dogde). Periodically, they would even give these private companies money (as in the bailout during 2008 economic crises) to bolster innovation in their cars. Indeed, Ford is able to do this in part because of such patronage.

At this time, the federal government of Nigeria and states should be buying ALL official vehicles from INNOSON Motors. Buying Innoson motors would give the company the much needed financial resources to invest in research and development, which will result in innovation and capacity development. In turn, INNOSON could build vehicles and sell them cheaply to the government and its agencies. The government can also order specialized vehicles from Innoson, as in special security and military vehicles, heavy industry machinery, etc.

Sadly in Nigeria, tribalism, discrimination, fear of appearing inferior to other ethnic groups, corruption, incompetence and dumbness, inferior mental capacity, etc. won't let us to buy from Innoson to help the company to innovate. And this is because the Hausas, Fulanis, and Yorubas who control Nigeria are afraid of the success of an Igbo-owned business.

Nigeria and the ethnic groups that control it - that is, the owners of Nigeria, are a disgrace!

The first step is to eradicate our deep rooted minds from religion and do things ourselves rather than calling God every time for help.

Without that first step, we will never step in the pat of progress.

The war against corruption can't be won without first addressing the grassroots of it, what is the thought of an average Nigeria reasoning everyone wants to outsmart the next person and all these starts as one begins to socialize (family, Peer group influence, and environmental factors ] truly let me tell u bro our foundation has sock so bad that we no longer at a reasonable length dnt care about consequences of our actions. Finally wen I was serving, having bin placed under freedom of information act CDs group, on our visit to the state house of assembly omo I never see honourable member bcum so afraid even d perm sec of various ministry was not left out the one dat pain me most was the state ministry of information, art n culture all the letters and petitions we wrote was sent to archives without much regards or feedback, so I ask again have we really started fighting corruption I know why I left politicians cause if I do might not finish 2day datz a tall 4 another day.

I am not praying for this but I know that it will never work in my dear country because if they eventually try it here many things might happen : 1, the house address might be blocked by cow. 2, kidnappers my kidnap the van, 3, area boys might demand to see the driver for settlement. 4, you will hear something like goods padding from our dear country. THIS IS NIGERIAN!!!

Very true!

Europe called on God for everything, like we do now, during the Renaissance or Middle Ages (around 14th - 17th centuries). However, they emancipated themselves mentally when they started challenging "the Church" and its strangle-hold on European society.

When they stopped saying "god this god that" is the beginning of what is known today as the industrial revolution. The industrial revolution started when men started to think for themselves and not depend on some god or spirits to put electricity in Europe or to build machines for them or to create the military weapons that they used to control the world and to colonize and enslave Africa.

Sad to say but Nigeria and Africa's mental state today is at the level of Europe during or before the 17th century, and it is the reason why we are so backward in everything.

If Europe and America stops advancing or stops exploring science and inventing new technologies today, Nigeria and Africa will still not reach where they are today in more than 200 years.

That means technologically we are atleast 200 years behind where Europe and America is today. This is pathetic and it is a disgrace!
