Chi59:Sorry Eschar actually means a dry, dark scab or falling away of dead skin, typically caused by a burn, an insect bite, or infection with anthrax. Not removal of scars, my bad... The suffix "-ectomy" is to remove. The suffix "-otomy" is to get into. e.g: Apped-ectomy: to remove an appendix, usually an inflamed one. Eschar-ectomy: removal of an Eschar.
