Hello my people in the house. I have a Nissan Quest 1995 old model which emits black smoke from exhaust pipe, fuel guage fail but no check engine light.

Please what's likely the problem with my vehicle?

poor idling, high fuel consumption, dead catalytic converter in no time, engine pinging.

Guy go buy the sensor or check that the wire has not been chewed by rats

You have a good reply up there. But to answer your question straight, you can't drive or even start some cars without MAF.
In some cars, you will have transmission malfunction with a mad MAF.
