AnonyNymous: I WANT TO KNOW WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT DESTINY. DO YOU BELIEVE IN A PREDETERMINED COURSE OF EVENTS? THAT THE FUTURE OF A PERSON OR GROUP OF INDIVIDUALS IS PREDETERMINED BY NATURE, OR BY SOME SORT OF DIVINE ENTITY.. BY SOME GOD? DO YOU BELIEVE THAT FROM THE MOMENT A HUMAN IS BORN A PLAN FOR HIS LIFE WILL BE LAID DOWN, ORDAINED BY SOMETHING OR SOMEONE.. OR YOU'RE JUST LIKE ME WHO BELIEVE ALL OUR ACTIONS, CHANCES TAKEN, AND OPPORTUNITIES FROM ONE MOMENT INFLUENCES THE OUTCOME THE NEXT MOMENT AND ALL THAT MAKE UP THE CYCLE OF OUR LIVES. I'VE HEARD PEOPLE, MOSTLY PREACHERS AND RELIGIOUS PEOPLE, EMPHASISE ON HOW A SPECIAL GROUP OF PEOPLE GET TO BE FAVORED AND DISTINGUISHED FROM OTHERS BECAUSE OF THEIR DESTINY. HOW THEY WON'T LACK OR MAKE UNIMAGINABLE PROGRESS BECAUSE THEY'VE BEEN DESTINED FROM DAY ONE TO BE SUCCESSFUL, UNLIKE "OTHERS". IT BAFFLES ME THAT THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE IN THIS ONE AND OTHER CONCEPTS THAT I THINK DON'T ONLY SOUND ABSURD, BUT ALSO HIGHLY DISGUSTING. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT DESTINY. ABOUT FATE. TOZARA. ATYOURCERVIX. HAHN. BUDAATUM. HOPEFULLANDLORD. PRESENTATION. ATLANTIA. MUSICWRITER. EPOSITIVE. IFENES. HARDMIRROR. DALAMAN. CALLIOPE. PUREM. JIXNATION. 1SHARON. JOHNYDON22. HAPPYPAGAN. DALAM0N. PLAETTON. NIFLHEIM. MISSCAPS. ADEPETER2027. PLEASE, GIVE ME A MENTION WITH WHAT YOU THINK OR BELIEVE ABOUT THE THING CALLED "DESTINY". I WANT TO LEARN SOMETHING NEW. THANKS. |

WHO BELIEVE ALL OUR ACTIONS, CHANCES TAKEN, AND OPPORTUNITIES FROM ONE MOMENT INFLUENCES THE OUTCOME THE NEXT MOMENT AND ALL THAT MAKE UP THE CYCLE OF OUR LIVES.More like it, A Deist doesn’t believe that ‘god’ interferes in the activities of man, Rather mans action is the cause of these things that happens to a man. So I’d say we are all God’s and our actions affects other. I was on a bike on Saturday and the bike man tried to manouvre a ditch gbam down we go. I’m injured . This happened on a government high way, If Government had repaired the road, there would be no ditch and the bike I was on wouldn’t fall and I definitely wouldn’t be injured even though it ain’t so serious. So a god failed and another suffered the effect. Cc CAPSLOCKED |

PRESENTATION: YOU'RE A DEIST THEN. NICE. I TAKE IT THAT YOU MEAN DESTINY (AS DESCRIBED FROM THE PULPITS) IS A RIDICULOUS GARBAGE. I'VE HEARD THEM SAY THINGS LIKE "YOUR DESTINY CAN BE DELAYED BUT CAN NEVER BE CHANGED.. YOU MUST BE WHAT GOD HAS DESTINED YOU TO BE.." THEY CLAIM IT'S PEOPLE'S DESTINY WHEN THEY GET POSITIVE [MOSTLY] THINGS. IT'S TIWA'S DESTINY TO BE A WEALTHY MUSICIAN.. SAME FOR PAUL THE BASKETBALLER. CAN WE SAY THE SAME THING FOR VICTIMS OF TERRORISM? LIKE.. GOD CREATED AMINA TO BE A SUICIDE BOMBER, OR A VICTIM OF CHILD ABUSE? THANKS FOR THE REPLY. ![]() |

JixNation: TRUTH IS, I DON'T NEED TO KNOW ABOUT DARWIN OR ANYTHING ABOUT SCIENCE TO KNOW THAT SO MANY THINGS ABOUT RELIGION DOESN'T MAKE SENSE. I MEAN, LOOK AROUND YOU. THERE WERE ANTI-THIESTS DURING THE FIRST CENTURY I'M SURE. IT'S IMPOSSIBLE THAT THIS REVOLUTION STARTED RECENTLY. |

I do not believe that our future is predetermined by nature or a higher being. The choices we make as humans determine our fate and help shape our destiny. Our individual and collective actions produce effects which influence events in the present and the future. Cc: CAPSLOCKED |

It's two sided for me.. I never really believed in destiny until a recent occurance I witnessed, and a whole alot had changed ever since then.. Like believing in an actual God now.. You know? I also believe there is no black board in the sky on which God has inscribe anyone's destiny or purpose/ mission in life.. And, your destiny is what you say it is, whatever purpose anyone fulfills, or will fulfill is what they had given themselves, but have it mind that tons of persons put in hardwork and still run out of luck, and others barely get the opportunities even though they gave in their best. While some effortlessly get it even without so much work per se.. It's complicated, like I said. In the igbo cosmology "there something called Chi " and it's determines how life treats a person irrespective. These things are very real too and plays a vital role in one's destiny. But then again your life would be what you created it as, and no one would stand in judgement of it now or ever. It's all depends on you and your chi. ![]() Cc: capslocked |

calliope: I'VE READ A LOT OF BOOKS THAT HAD A COUPLE OF THINGS TO SAY ABOUT CHI. IT'S UNFORTUNATE HOW ONE'S CHI HAS BEEN TWISTED TO MEAN WHAT THE EUROPEANS CAME HERE WITH. THANKS FOR YOUR RESPONSE. LIFE WOULD BE WHAT WE CREATE IT AS. ![]() |

CAPSLOCKED:determinism and indeterminism still dey cause fight in the world of philosophy..... Determinists claim with the present variables and calculations, you can predict the future, hence the concept of destiny.... Indeterminists claim that freewill and predestination contradict each other.... Hence one has to give way for each other.... Me I just kuku siddon dey look them ![]() |

acapella in Nigeria tho...waste of time |
| Re: . by ifenes(m): 11:13am On Jun 29, 2018 |
CAPSLOCKED:Past,Present and Future have already happened. "Now" is the only exponential time. Every possible "DESTINATION" has already been happened. Before an individual is born,he/she has already decided on the type of experience he/she will have. These experiences are soley for Soul developments. Stress is a good way to develope and evolves, hence why most Souls choose to be born into poverty. We make these conscious decisions on Soul levels before subjecting ourselves to the human inferior level that wants to be rich at all cost. A poor man is more likely to be more evolved than the rich guy because of less distraction. The worst thing is to be materially rich and poor on the sole level, and then have to come back to repeat it all over again. The poor guy has a lot of time to find the true meaning of life, meditate, get in tune with nature, channel good vibes, fall in true love etc ......... That is if he chooses. |
| Re: . by plaetton: 11:34am On Jun 29, 2018 |
ifenes:I fail to see how this makes sense in light of all that we know. In every country today, poverty and vice show a very strong correlation. Nigerian being the easiest example. Therefore, I don't know how a poor man , whose entire life is devoted in eking out the barest of existence, is likely to be more spiritually evolved than a rich, contented person who has more time for study, contemplation and deeper reflection. The poor man is more likely to be distracted his entire life and operate on the baser animal instincts than his rich counterpart. The glorification of poverty is sure one of the biggest scams the noble and rich have employed to assuage and condition the minds of the poor in order to help maintain their own grip and monopoly on power and wealth. " Blessed are the meek, for they they shall inherit the Earth " has obviously been the most successful scam perpetrated by looting imperial powers, especially upon the very rich continent of Africa. |
| Re: . by ifenes(m): 2:54pm On Jun 29, 2018 |
plaetton:And then we look at the lives of the Buddhist monks or a Floyd Mayweather. The first understand they are here to develop themselves on a Soul level, they are consciously living a good life to eradicate negative after-effect, while the rich dude is only concerned about the illusion of money and good life. Because our understanding of life has been turned upside down, we all wanna be rich and acquire the wealth of life and then see poverty as a curse. Life is best lived without material possessions. It’s not about glorifying poverty, it’s undernstanding that poverty helps you more. Material possessions is only temporary, the soul’s quality is eternal. |
| Re: . by plaetton: 3:51pm On Jun 29, 2018 |
ifenes:The Buddhist monk is not poor by circumstances of his birth, but is one who a makes a conscious choice to detach from any pleasures outside the basic necessities. In fact , a monk , under the spell of hunger, disease, uncertainty about shelter, etc, would be incapable of finding time for serious contemplation of deeper existential matters. A Buddhist monk, in comparison to the average wretchedly poor man in Nigeria, for example, would be considered rich and well to do. The idea that life can be best lived without material possessions is not only False, but is an insult to what we know about human history. I would appreciate if you can point out an example of any society, ancient or modern, that have existed harmoniously without material possessions. By your assertions, we should look at animal life in the wild, and do our best to emulate their so wonderful example. Any god that supposedly molded and created humans to live without want or material possessions obviously made a big booboo , and should be labelled " A Stuupid SOB" , quoting The President of the Philippines. |
| Re: . by ifenes(m): 1:28am On Jun 30, 2018 |
plaetton:If that’s what you strongly believe in, I will have to leave you to that logic. My view are for better understood by those who are spiritually awoken. Those who suffer the flesh to enrich the soul. There are not many around. My last take on this. |
