Get a proper Anticocci and avoid all other drugs for three days at least.
I recommend vitacox plus wsp or center dicox or embazin forte. The last is cheapest and make sure you follow the dosages. How many are there?

If you cannot get the drug immediately, grind 8 fresh pepper, 2 onion bulb and add either pawpaw leaf or bitterleaf in 10 litres container and serve till morning.

Go for any one or you could combine both. These feed addictive are recommended for large size farms from at least 200 broilers

Page 0 till last comment done.

First off, my appreciation to all the fellows putting in work, from OP Emma to Turks and many others whose practical problems have prompted practical solutions. Many have made mistakes and lost money, and have been bold and open enough to share so that the rest can learn and be successful.
Many thanks to you all.

I have grabbed (copied text) a couple of lessons (15 pages, 2384 words) which I hope will be helpful when I venture into poultry farming.

So I have this box, which some people in Anambra here use for brooding DOC.
How much can it accommodate. Size (LxBxH) is 4.1x2.1.x1.27ft

Any suggestions from all is welcomed.

Depends on weeks to brood. Is it in feet or meters?

I don't sell mine. But you can sell to eateries and frozen food stores.
Prices range between 900-1200 per kg on wholesale purchases or sell at 1400-1600 to retailers in your shop if you decide to go that way.
You can also sell as processed meat to these people I mentioned up there.

I was told 10-13weeks are sold 1000-1300per kg. Please how many bags of feed can 100 birds consume from day old to 10weeks?

10 weeks will be too much for commercial sales.
100 broilers should consume 500kg feed from 0-6/7 weeks targeting average of 3-3.5 kg weight and feeding ad libitum.

If you want to keep for 10 weeks and feeding ad libitum, then you may need between 700-800kg for 100 broilers targeting an average of 4kg weight.

In ft.
Brooding for 6-8 8-10days, or what do you think is appropriate.

Standard is 16-20 per square feet but will prefer a lower density due to our environment like 10 per square feet.
Meaning your box of 6 square feet should take 60-80 broilers.
Ross 308 broilers needs only about 5 days for brooding.

So how do I go about the heating.
I read somewhere on this thread that kerosene lamps are not the best for DOC (maybe due to fumes/smoke), ...but I don't think the enclosure can house the birds and still accommodate a coal burner.
What if I have a steady power source, can I use 2 100watts bulb to provide both light and heat 24/7. Will it suffice?
Again what do you think of the vents around the box, with regards to ventilation?

The charcoal pot will be placed outside the box.

Yes. Light bulbs can be used. Remember, allow them at least an hour or two of fresh air daily.
