There are about 190+ countries in the world, only 32 get to make it to world cup. There are more than 100 countries who have never played at the world cup cos they don't get to qualify.

Cricket is a bigger deal to them. They tried to qualify this year for the World Cup but it seems they lost. I watched on BBC where their cricket stars and Bollywood actors begged citizens to support the Nation's soccer team -- most didn't care and the team lost anyway so back to cricket they went.

I asked my Indian friend why none play in the Premier League and he said most Indian parents based in the UK are too traditional, picking education-centric careers for their children while shunning any form of sport, even the almighty cricket.
