This is a good move by the government, I think there need to review SARS operations and activities. There has to be a total restructuring of the system, training and re-orientating SARS, so as to stop them from harrasing citizens.

Nobody asked them to release press statement for every step they take, but some certain critical issues that have been subject of discussion in the public domain needs their urgent and immediate action. If you are in Nigeria you will know this SARS issue has been going on for long. Videos have been posted, audios released, people have died and are still dieing as a result of their brutality. Please truthfully answer if you think an enquiry into their actions is not worth the front page of national dailies?

I mean if they can give June 12 declaration as much publicity as it will serve their political motive, why not give this SARS issue that affects me and you that same level of publicity.

My grouse is this; So if someone had not asked at that town hall meeting about SARS brutality, we wouldn't have been informed that something is being done(that is even if it is being done as claimed).......smh

I really understand your view sir but we all know how the government being run,I agree with you on how the sarz has been intimidating and harassing people,even going to the length of killing the innocent people.But my question is:where is our activist lawyers? We need some bold activist who can boldly sue or petition both the fed govt and the Nigerian police....we can't expect the govt to react base on social media protest.we need to upgrade our level of protesting if we are truly serious about condemning the sarz intimidation. The feeding is actually on going across 24 States in the country and the current figure given with pure facts and statistics show tha over 8.2 million children are been fed at least once a day in primary schools. It is called National Home Grown School Feeding Programme. Which tell you those food supplied are home grown and has brought about huige transfromation in the agriculture sector. The only reason why the VP is addressing the issue here is simply because he was asked about it....so what's the big deal about that. Are you expecting him to keep quiet in such scenario...he might ordinarily have no intention to make the development a public thing, but since the question was asked...he has to let us know what the government has in plan to do about the issue.

And that is why I said they are reactive not proactive. That was the point of my post you quoted. They are running a reactive and not proactive government. They have to wait be pushed, nudged and pressured to take a stand.

Madam it's actually our government that needs to change the way they operate. We are in 2018 and officials in other countries lose their office due to that same social media posts.

If the same Osinbanjo could be quoting some of our entertainers on social media at the platform, mentioning their various slogans word for word, I think they should also be able to react to posts that has to do with the government.

I mean he is definitely shouldn't be on Instagram to watch lasisielenu videos alone now.

The VP Osinbajo statement that President Buhari had ordered the review of SARS operations in order to meet up with the expectations of Nigerians is a welcome development. We all know that SARS was necessary due to the role they had been playing in the protection of lives and properties across the country but they should cautioned and call to order over the uncivilised manner of their operations, harassment, intimidation of many innocent Nigerians by SARS activities contrary to their mode of their legitimate operations.
