There is a VIO department inside NNPC/PPMC depot. Their job is to inspect tankers before loading to make sure there are safe to ply public roads. Unfortunately all they care about is money and do little or no inspection.

That's why it's not rare to see drivers load petrol with vehicles that have faulty brake system, leaking tanks, etc

This is true but not sure if it's VIO or FRSC.

My thoughts exactly.

This cant be PMS. But still doesn't detract from the fact that its dangerous. Diesel is even more brutal than PMS.

The leak may have not even started at the depot. If the leak starts midway on the delivery journey then its more of a question of how do we account for the loss. Poverty mindset at work here.

It also raises the question of standards. Most of these tankers are built with nothing more than sheel metal. No corrosion protection whatsoever. Just sheet metal Welded to together by hand. Meeeen we have lost our way 10 times over in this country.
