What I observed in this immigrants is that they had an idea, immigrated to the United States one way or the other and became successful... That's why United States is good, if you have something to give them, but in Nigeria if you do have something to give them they'll hold it in tribal or network bounds and cripple your dream for them. No avenues, no support from a country as Nigeria and Africa... That's what's making us undeveloped, we do not want to accept, what inventionist and brainys wants to offer to us. No matter how small.

As president Trump of the United States of America continues his onslaught against immigrants, rolling out tough policies all in a bid to discourage hard working immigrants from entering the country it’s important for him to be reminded that almost all the biggest and richest tech companies in America were founded by immigrants. He should however think of how it would have been if previous presidents had stopped the parents of this founders from entering the United States. It is worthy to note that most of these people came into the United States as poor people but today, they and their children helped built the US to what it become today. I have compiled a list of all the major tech companies whose founders are not originally from the United States but were immigrants from other countries. These companies would not have existed in the United States without immigrants. These founders have called on the US to keep it’s doors wide open to immigrants. Maybe Trump should see this list and have a rethink.

1. Amazon : Founder Jeff Bezos whose father Mike Bezos was a Cuban immigrant. Today he’s the world’s richest man.

Absolutely, there is no doubt that 1st, generation Americans along with US citizens born outside of the USA have made an indelible & great achievement in Tech, Academia, Finance, Big Pharma and Government but we cannot forget the fact that they were able to accomplish their respective feats is due to the American exceptional platform that offered quality education, quality knowledge bank, exposure to intellectual activities, venture capitalist funds and most important American innovative & entrepreneur culture. We can both bet that had Steve Jobs Dad stayed in Syria, the iPhone would have a different name and might not be as powerful as the one we have. Sergey Brin’s Dad was poor in the Soviet Union and came to America to be a Mathematics Professor. The greatness of America is not due to a particular race or culture but the concept of the individual freedom and pursuit of success and that’s why other nations fail. Had African Americans been afforded economic, social and civil right since the Reconstruction Era, America would have even been greater.

That is what we are telling these biafrans that want to leave Nigeria. That greatness of every country is in its diversity. Every tribe, region religion, culture is indispensable.

Elon musk came into the US legally as a transfer student from Queen's university Ontario in Canada to University of Pennsylvania his documentation was legal and regular

America is a racist country! What you forgot to add is that all the people you listed are white-skinned people. Black people are seriously discriminated against.

Most countries , including America do not have a practical immigration policy. What they actually have is an anti immigration policy.

This is simply senseless and it's fuelling illegal migration and desperation.

If Nigeria for instance started to grow fast economically, there'd be boatloads of immigrants from west Africa searching for jobs.

Even as it is, there's probably as many as 2m Malians living here already. Nigeriens may be far numerous than that.

A work policy that invites immigrants will go a long way to alleviating the problem, not ending it. That is what Canada has done, partly aided by the fact it is bordered by the rich United States and not poor Mexico. Even if it was Mexico, Canada would have created a practical policy to accommodate the fact.

Truth be told, America isn't keen on welcoming immigrants especially nonwhite. Most immigrants are from nonwhite countries.

The white immigrants usually Europeans just simply head to rich EU countries if they are already members of the EU
