Cristiano Ronaldo looks increasingly likely to leave Real Madrid this summer after the Spanish giants decided they will accept an £88m offer from Juventus, according to reports. The 33-year-old hinted that he could leave the Bernabeu directly after Real won their third successive Champions League title at the end of May, while he has been agitating for a move since last summer.

Ronaldo is believed to want a significant pay rise that keeps him in line with the new deals handed to Neymar and Lionel Messi by PSG and Barcelona respectively

Real president Florentino Perez had been unwilling to sanction a new contract for a player in the twilight of his career, and was adamant that Ronaldo would only be sold if his €1billion (£883m) release clause was met.


But now Perez appears to have relented, with El Chiringuito TV show Jugones claiming that Real have decided to accept Juventus’ £88m offer – which is just a tenth of the release clause.


Despite finally offering improved terms, Ronaldo has rejected Real’s contract proposal and believes his cycle at the Bernabeu has come to an end. Madrid are prepared to cede to his desire to leave the club as reward for his service over nine hugely successful seasons, in which he has won the Champions League four times.


Juventus have offered Ronaldo a mammoth £26m-a-year contract – the same as Real’s final offer – over four years, meaning he will be 37 by the time his contract expires. Real’s change in stance and new-found willingness to allow Ronaldo to leave is expected to entice both Manchester United and PSG to make a move, with both clubs having shown an interest in the past. However, Juve are the runaway favourites, with Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, having used negotiations with the Italian side over Joao Cancelo’s £35m move to also discuss bringing Ronaldo to Turin.

A shocking report from Italy claims that Cristiano Ronaldo is getting closer to a move to Juventus. The Italian source quoted by Marca and A Bola believes that the Portuguese striker has said 'yes' to the Bianconeri's €30m per year offer.
