Many factors can affect cars in different locations

But the main problem in this case is

The first question you should ask yourself is: how many Nigerians buy brand new cars?

Most of the cars you see plying our roads have been used else where before being shipped to Nigeria.

A brand new car used in Nigeria for 6 months will beat its equivalent used for 11 years in any other country, almost in all ramifications,all things being equal.

Bros if somebody can use a brand new car for 11 years, and still look like new. Someone else bought this car, after 6months...leme use 1year.. and the car is beyond recognition from body panels to interior to engine.

What is the justification that if this same person buys a brand-new car, it will last for 11 years and still sparkling?

Someone used a 100% car to 80% in 11years
Another person used same car 80% to 40% in 1 year

Do the maths.

The difference is too much. There are some 15years old toks car that still almost brand-new.

In theory the difference should be...
Since toks can look good after 11years
Nigerian used should still look good for 6years...that's fair.

Afterall it is not scrap, it is 80% new. Why then should it look good for only 6months?

That is the question of this thread, let's hear.

4. Insurance policy is poorly managed. This make someone not to invest on their ride since they will bear all burden themselves and also knowing that "i beg sir" is the usual way of settling every accident.

Our mechanics and technicians do trial-and-error on most cars. You will fix one thing today, only for another one to go bad, the following week. And our bad roads, and daily bumper-to-bumper traffic also contributes to the damage, that most cars go through in Nigeria. Abroad, MOT tests and proper maintenance is done promptly, as and when due. In some foreign countries, they will not even renew your vehicle insurance, if you do not provide evidence of your annual MOT maintenance and service history.

Proper driving habits or training adds to it.

We drive anyhow here.
E.g overtaking from the right.

Even when you are busy maintaining your car and its looking sweet , one idiot can just use his bumper and give you tribal mark from your back end to the front.

And if panel beater touch that body, the whole car will be looking like vomit. They know nothing other than "body-filler"...even body filling rubber
