Ignorance, poor education. In developed climes, petrol is classified as a dangerous chemical and the society treats it as such. In our society, the things is ubiquitous, it is found everywhere. People get used to it and no longer see it as or treat it as something dangerous. Our values are upside down. Our education doesn't enlighten people, rather it brings more ignorance and nothing kills like ignorance.

A whole nigeria with one or two fire truck(s) responding to a matter like this is troubling and alarming. If na correct country, the effects of fire trucks and ambulance for dun dey encourage person to fit do kolo tins to get there.

First of all the design of this place foundation has to be on a fire retardant base like concrete and something else; and it should be more wider than that. I also question the mechanical connections of pipe fittings like joints; Their safety valves condition; pipe condition like scale inside the pipes etc; mechanisms like level floats, temperature and pressure sensors for the tanks, etc; and then the structure of the tanks for capacity.

Look how this place be like rebel oil field. Instead of national/state depot.
