Let start of by saying, this isn't my real account. I had to create this one and have changed my style of writing just to be on the safe side.
So around 10:45 am today, I was sitting in my favourite secluded back seat in church, somewhere in Lagos. When 4 tall guys in their early 40's, with well trimmed buzz cut hair, and clean shaved faces typical of service/force men walked in. There was this sudden uneasy calm. The ushers looked worried, and I noticed it, because I was already looking for near by weapon and safest exit if something bad was to go down. Mind you, this isn't a small church, but it's not a mega cathedral either. So a mid-size church with a large membership base. All of a sudden the pastor took a sharp detour from what he was originally teaching, and started advising people to ignore what the media was reporting about deaths in the country and focus on God for safety. This was an absolute contrast to the actual message. I am not going to state what the message was about for obvious reasons. Then it struck me. This could very well have been men of the DSS trying to enforce whatever made CAN recant their call for a nationwide protest. These guys didn't have a bible, they didn't pray, didn't sing, didn't give offerings, didn't communicate with each other even though they sat beside each other. They just kept a mean demeanor and one of them kept looking into his phone and showing it to the others. I am just posting this here to check if anyone else experienced or noticed something similar in church today? Looks like Nigeria has become a policed state.

Op I can still tell who you are from your write up.

Back to the topic. Why did ur pastor change his message? That tells much about the types of pastors we have these days. Is he not supposed to fearless when preaching the Gospel? What happens to this bible quote "do not fear him who can destroy the body, fear him rather who can destroy both body and soul in hell"
