We have zero grassroots football in Nigeria and you guys expect the players/coaches to perform wonders. When u hear the likes of Messi started playing amateur soccer at age 5 you try to compare him to players who wore their first soccer boot (albeit second hand) at age 15.They can't give what they don't have.

The problem impeding our football is not just a Nigeria problem but an African one. We always enter matches as underdogs rather than favorites. It takes a fluke(or flukes) for the underdog to overcome the favorite.

Someone was talking of us recruiting world class players. FFS, this is international football, we can't just sign players like it's done in club football. Our players are average and that's how it's always gonna be in the nearest foreseeable future. Get used to that.

And before you say we should select players from the local league, ensure you first watch them at CHAN tournaments.

IMO, we neither over achieved nor underachieved at this World Cup.

...ways we can get better
Removing Ighalo is a must, joel obi follows suit, let's try and make Onazi's exit a smooth transition cause even though he's not a great footballer, he has been dedicated to the team.
Someone should tell victor moses to be serious, we can't have him falling all over the pitch.
We need a fast and prolific striker in our team.
We need a very good left-footed ,left wing back in that team.
We need a very fast and tall defender like rudiger in this team.
We need the coach to establish iwobi as the no 10...he has a lot to offer in that position.
We need ebuehi as the constant right wing-back, with a little defensive training of course.
We need the coach to stop fidgeting in big matches and make necessary changes on time.

Feel free to add yours.
iwobi as number 10 is a no no. No sane coach will use him at that position. Iwobi is best used as a sub. We really missed simon moses, he is the only sane winger that can dribble. Onyekuru would have also added some flare, but the injury he had prior to the world cup affect him

I totally agree with you on simon moses, he's fast, can cross, very creative and can play in both left and right foward.
Onyekuru is a good striker but is injury prone, we can do better, the country is abound with talent.
I would have have to disagree about iwobi though, watching the qualifiers, you can see that he can play from the beginning and perform well, his class was shown in the argentina friendly where he played behind iheanacho, and the second half of the england friendly where he played further upfront...take this into consideration
