The Abuja Metro Railway was officially commissioned for public use on 11th July 2018 and Nigeria's president, Pres. Buhari was the guest of honor. According to the FCTA, Residents will enjoy Two weeks of a free ride on the Abuja light rail after the Thursday's commissioning by the President.

This is absolutely nonsense economically. This is Islamic economic way of development. Private sector infrastructural development is more efficient and transformational. Underdeveloping regions which are economical viable and resource rich, and developing regions which are more or less economical unviable due to religious/tribal affiliations, but with all regions mutually under one GDP is primitive and stupid. Simple normal evolutional economic transformation/industrization/modernisation trajectory can never never be achieved by this sort of misplaced priority.
