Angelina Jolie would've pulled off a masterpiece if he didn't portray the message in an animatiom form. Animating it took off majority of the pains and sympathy it would elicited from viewers.

For better understanding of what I mean, watch the various animations about the crucifixion of Christ, then watch The Passion of Christ by Mel Gibson. The difference in both portryals is wider than the development between America and Nigeria. Animation is the worst genre to portray stories like that. Everything would seem fake.
I disagree. Despite being portrayed in cartoon form it was able to elicit real emotions from me and several others.

A simple animation with nice artistic touch from Wes Anderson(director of the grand Budapest hotel)

Cartoons/animations are better suited for metaphorical and fictional stories.

See; lion king, little mermaid, animal farm (cartoon adaptation) etc

TRAFFIK 2018 I saw dis movie last night Just as I was about going to bed. I tell you of a truth that the sleep eventually ran away so fast like Usain Bot. The movie got me hooked from end to finish, I was thrilled. It's a wake up call to the reality of human and sex trafficking. Even though it was cast with average characters, the plot and acting was on point. 8/10

False. Watch grave of the fireflies, an anime movie. Animation or life action does not affect the message a movie tries to portray, unless you're the type dat blivs animation are for kids only nd cannot effectively portray adult themes. If u're lyk dat pls indicate

I'm not. I'm not a kid and I watch animations. Old men with grandchildren do watch animations. But the fact is, while the message is not affected in animations, you can't compare the emotions from a human, the outpouring of tears, sadness and anguish that'd be displayed by a human to that of a cartoon character. There must be a difference.

There's no diff, a creator is capable of creating fully human characters(cartoon characters dat feel fully human) nd cartoons have bin used numerous types to elicit emotion effectively. Its all about creating a world dat u can fully relate to as a human being nd den u myt evn forget u're watching an animation.

As a case in point, d animation grave of the fireflies has been hailed as one of d sadest movies ever(yh, including live action movies)

I haven't watched the animation, but in all my years of watching animations, none comes close to the emotions displayed by humans and not cartoon characters.

In marketing classes, they tell you that people respond most to adverts that relates to them, hence, cartoon adverts will always get a less reaction to real life adverts.

I love cartoons but they cannot convey emotions as good as a human actor can.

The Breadwinner ...5.5/10
Genre: Animated drama

The movie/cartoon has a captivating story, & just like olulife said, it portraying the lifestyle of the Muslim based countries. However, using cartoon/ animation to tell this wonderful story was what killed it. They would have made it into a real movie instead. Animations are usually less serious & lighthearted so as to hold the audience ( children/adults) spellbound.

Although I totally get were Ishlove is coming from. To her, the movie appealed to her subjectively, hence her high ratings. I do remember rating a movie (AWAKE) a 10, and was attacked by a movie enthusiast here for giving such absurd ratings. But I made the young lad understand that my ratings on the movie was subjective rather than the generic POV held by acclaimed movie sites such as IMDB & Rotten tomatoes & he understood my point.

The Breadwinner.

I won't rate it because of mixed reviews here.

I watched this cartoon last night after i had watched Jihad: A Story of the Others the previous night. Jihad: A Story of the Others is a documentary about Jihad and its hypocrisy and the corruption that goes on with it, which were highlighed by former extremists who have renounced it and have now became Imams preaching religion tolerance in the UK.

Seun, NL owner once asked a question 'Would You Prefer To Live In An Islamic Country?'. And many people that commented wrote that no, they prefer to live in secular and liberal countries like USA, UK, Canada.

The hijab and the masquerade agbada was to protect the woman, but it turned it their prison to the point where they are not allowed to go out on their own, and if they do just any stranger can reprimand them.

So i want to say these, I wish that lady Firdaus fighting for the use of hijab lives in an islamic country where women are not allowed to drive, i wish she lives in an islamic country were women are not allowed to go to stadiums, go out on their own then she will know she waa juat fighting for vanity.

Even rich arabs and Nigeria politicians children are not always on hijab or the masquerade cover up.

I think breadwinner was fine, but the movie was dragged by the story of the elephant, i think they should have addressed so many ills in the Islamic region. Like when a young girl child was with an old man, Parvana said your daughter will like it, but the old man said 'she is my wife'. Also when men accosted women for going out on their own and shaming them on why they are not covered up.

Sorry, i will rate it. But because of the elephant story which was nor needed and was not even concluded well i will rate it six point five out of ten.

You know those kind of movies you watch, smile and never watch again.

The will i call it 'mind control abi telekenesis' part was not needed. The womans superpowers was strange but not unexpected they'll probably want to surprise viewers with a movie of her own very soon.

Antman to me is just a 6/10 tops... its just comical as far as im concerned, no real long lasting memory to cling on to.

Lemme goan watch TRAFFIK. Ill be back cool
