"I come from a small tribe - the Tarok tribe in Langtang. It is a small tribe from a small group. If the north secures independence from the rest of the country the Hausa/Fulani will be so dominant and will lord over us whether we like it or not. A bigger Nigeria will check such excesses. So the bigger Nigeria, the freer my tribe and myself will be". - Domkat Bali

The above quote credited to Domkat Bali is not synonymous to him alone but to virtually all the Middle-belt Christians that fought an aggressive, brutal and uncivil war to keep Nigeria one and united.

Gowon's hesitation to Murtala's Operation Araba was because he(Gowon) knew what awaits him and his people living under the shadow of the Islamic beast. The civil war was fought by the Middle-Belt to postpone doomsday and as we can discern from what is going on in that part of Nigeria and in the core-north, where christian minorities are targeted in places like Numan, Southern Kaduna and Kebbi - that day of reckoning has finally arrived.

I will not dwell on Danjuma's critical role in ensuring a successful mutiny in 1967 which saw the execution of Ironsi as you are all privy to this but rather I will bring to the fore how Danjuma as one of the most senior Military commanders during the Gowon era saw to the Military being taken over by the Huasa/Fulani.

At independence, the Nigerian Army had a force of just slightly above 10,000 officers and men with just 2% of the Federal annual budget going to her upkeep. Fast-forward to 1970 - just after the civil war - the Nigerian army had swelled to a total of over 250,000 men and accounted for 40% of the National budget.

This was obviously not sustainable from an economic point and the fact that majority of the men who made up the military were war time recruits and draftees who had participated in the most uncivil war, led to a situation of a very highly undisciplined force. The Nigerian army veterans of the civil war were engaged in gun-running, armed robbery and extortion of the general populace because the govt was finding it very difficult to house and pay salaries of the soldiers despite the huge revenue from oil.

The likes of Danjuma were at the forefront demanding that Gowon should purge the army. Gowon was a little hesitant as most of the bulk of NCOs at that time were drawn from the christian middle-belt. Gowon's assertions were that if he de-commissioned most of his ilk from the army, the Hausa/Fulani officers could easily seize power from him. He was right.

Gowon never reduced the seize of the army over fears of the Huasa/Fulani officers staging a coup. To show how popular Gowon was among the NCOs, it was only after Gowon went to attend an AU Congress in Ethiopia that Murtala through Yaradua struck!

Immediately Murtala became Head-of-State, the purge began and most of the middle-belt NCOs and some officers got sacked from the army. The Murtala regime also bypassed most middle-belt officers for promotion and command positions in place of Muslim Hausa/Fulani officers. Banbangida was promoted to Lt-Colonel and was appointed to Murtala's Supreme Military Council. This did not go down well with officers like Dimka who felt cheated out.

The Dimka Coup of 1977 was meant to stop the Fulanization of the military. The Coup plotters were overwhelmingly from the Middle-belt and christian as well. One of the demands by Dimka was that Gowon will return as Head-of State and that all dismissed NCOs will be re-instated.
It should be noted that as Murtala began his purge of NCOs from the middle-belt, there were parallel recruitment of Hausa/Fulani Muslims into the army as well. Dimka was very aware of this northernization and Islamization of the Army by Murtala.

Danjuma still had the opportunity of stopping the northernization and Islamization process after Obasanjo sent word of his resignation from his hiding place that he was not interested in being Head-of State that Danjuma "is free to take over the reigns of power".

Danjuma will have none of that and reminded Obasanjo of what transpired in Jan 15, 1966 after a group of mainly Igbo officers had staged a coup which later saw Ironsi in power and how the north (inclusive of him) saw the coup as an Igbo conspiracy to seize power for themselves.

Danjuma's greatest fear in taking over was that the Huasa/Fulani north will perceive his ascension to Head-of-State after the coup as a repeat of what transpired in 1966. When Obasanjo stated categorically that he will not be part of an organization that can not guarantee his safety, Danjuma told Obasanjo point blank "we will protect you".

Dimka's trial and execution were fast-forwarded and to placate the Hausa/Fulani Muslim north over Murtala's demise, a young officer by the name Shehu Yaradua who was instrumental in orchestrating the coup that saw Murtala into power, was promoted from Lt-Colonel to Lt.General and appointed deputy Chairman of the Supreme Military Council of the Federal Military Govt of Nigeria.

At that time there were only two high ranking Fulani Muslims in the army- Yaradua and Buhari - with Buhari being the senior. Danjuma did not trust Buhari over his radical tendencies and so he was bypassed and his junior Yaradua promoted to Lt-General. Danjuma will keep the position of Chief of Army Staff for himself and from there he completed the purge of Middle-Belt NCOs and Officers from the army.

In 1979, the Obasanjo-Yaradua regime handed over to the democratically elected civilian govt of Shehu Shagari who continued the recruitment of Hausa/Fulani Muslims into the Army in-order to bolster his power base. But Shagari was no Soldier or General and it was those same troops that guarded him at state house that Buhari was able to use to stage a coup to ouster him.

Buhari will then continue the purge of Middle-Belt officers from ranking positions and from the NCO cadre and this will continue under subsequent Military regimes with an Okar coup reminding us of the Huasa/Fulani plan. It wasn't up till 1999 when Obasanjo returned as Civilian Head-Of-State and tried successfully to balance the ethno-religious makeup of the Army.

But with the advent of Buhari in 2015, all that gain made by Obasanjo in trying to balance the army was shoved aside with massive sack of non-Hausa/Fulani muslim officers from the force.

Danjuma did not have the foresight to understand the extent at which the Fulani will go to secure every means of power or maybe he never knew that Nigerians will be stupid enough to elect a known bigot to the highest office.

Op let me add something to the above ... Apart from the fact that Danjuma didn't trust Buhari, Obasanjo told Danjuma clearly that he can never work with Buhari as his Deputy that he(Buhari) is too rigid, too independent and not bendable to opinion of others, that he can appoint him into other position but not as his Deputy. That was why Yaradua was given double promotion. This is the absolute truth and is verifiable

As for the entire write-up esp the last paragraph, TY Danjuma, OBJ and IBB who are the three best know Nigerian friends of foreign intelligence connived with their foreign friends in London and Washington DC to bring Buhari to power in 2015 by using various means which I wouldn't like to go into details. But now, they are trying to remove Buhari which is going to be very difficult because Buhari has hijacked every know structure needed to win elections with or without the people.

I'm still trying to see how they will go about it

Obasanjo had no hand in who will be his deputy.

It was Danjuma that controlled the army after the Dimka Coup and until 1979.

Buhari was made governor of NE state by Murtala and Danjuma rightfully left him there until Obasanjo decided to give him Minister of Petroleum.

It is glaring that the govt cannot protect her people with the military seeming connivance with terrorist.
Dapchi girls were abducted with all the military check points in place and were brought back same way with so much celebrations.
A government who bans vigilante from carrying guns and allow terrorist to carry machine guns is a joke.

You are very correct, danguma was amongst the few idiots that unlawfully killed ironsi like a dog with his host the first western governor, if he says he did it for nigeria unity i will agree but are his tribe benefiting totally from his actions for him to say he did evil to another to make sure we all are trapped in a lawless nigeria

If Obj, from the South, became Head of State, who did you think would become his deputy by virtue of rank and seniority apart from Danjuma who ruled himself out? Buhari of course! This was part of what TY Danjuma discussed with Obj. TY Danjuma was powerful, Obj was not.

They decided to give Yaradua double promotion immediately he convinced Obj to agree to be Head of State. It was Danjuma that orchestrated all these. They could not work with Buhari as deputy because according to them Buhari was too rigid

They could not work with Buhari as deputy because according to them Buhari was too rigid

They knew Buhari to be a fanatical Fulani Muslim extremist and supremacist.

They knew power going to Buhari will be more dangerous.

Obasanjo appointed Buhari as Minister of Petroleum in order to placate him and also build an alliance with Buhari in the event that Yradua may plan to overthrow him. Obasanjo knew that since Yaradua's ascension in both rank and position above Buhari, Buhari had a seething hatred and dislike for Yaradua and so no alliance would have been fruitful between the duo to remove Obasanjo.

Obasanjo also decided to appoint Buhari as the inaugural Minister of Petroleum because he wanted to remove Buhari from any command post from where he (Buhari) would have been able to stage a coup. The desk job at the Ministry of Petroleum would pacify Buhari by giving him access to loot in order to forgoe any ambitious plan of seizing power for himself.

The vast majority of officers and men in the Nigerian security apparatuses are Hausa/Fulanis.

Buhari has made it very clear that he wants a Hausa/Fulani Muslim army. This is in tadem with your dhimmitive status as a Kafir in the Islamic State of Arewastan as envisioned by Buhari.

But does Nigeria really have a military or a bunch of rogues in uniform mostly run by waec less generals.
100% internal war 0% external war ,that one na army? Or armu.
Only achievement is keeping Nigeria one , loosing bakassi to Cameroon and giving out the most brutal response to unarmed protesters

Danjuma did not have the foresight to understand the extent at which the Fulani will go to secure every means of power or maybe he never knew that Nigerians will be stupid enough to elect a known bigot to the highest office.

interesting

The above is absolutely false. Danjuma opted for Yar'adua because he felt Buhari was a fine soldier and had a very bright future in the military and there was no need cutting it short with a political appointment. Yar'adua on the other hand was already a political soldier. He was more interested in politics than military due to his family background and it was obvious to all high ranking officers then that he can't last in the military.

The high point of the career of a Nigerian Military officer was to have a political appointment.

If Buhari was not a political soldeir then how come he transformed himself to a Military head of state?

There is no living or dead Nigerian military officer who is more political than Buhari.

Same Buhari that has contested elections on four occasions, floated single handeldy a political party (CPC)?

You can never succeed or rather survive as an officer in the Nigerian Army without playing high level politics.

The Nigerian Army was at one time described as the most powerful armed political party in Africa.

Save your usual b.s. up your ass where it came from.

And guys with the blind support of the head slammers and MURIC from the west to this bigoted president in the person of jubrin buhari,I see a possible take over of the south west by Islamist radicals. The west must be careful, they are already fighting for hijab to be their wards school uniforms in a school that has been in existence for over 50years. The dooms day is almost here and its possible that they Koran may actually be dipped in the Atlantic ocean.
As for the men from the East, we are waiting as things unfold. Last last,we would never be the worst hit when the dooms days comes.

So why then was Buhari later appointed Petroleum minister in the same regime?

I used to think you're intelligent but I was wrong... I've to apologize to myself for being so stupid

May God bless you! Obj clearly never wanted Buhari to be his deputy. He told Danjuma he would not accept to be the Head of State if he (Danjuma) decides to appoint Buhari as his deputy that was why Yaradua, a junior officer was giving double promotion by Danjuma and his team.

The big boys in the Military at that time didn't like Buhari because of his rigid nature and inability to see things from the broader perspective. Junior Officers like IBB, Abacha, Muhammed Gusau and the rest freely mingled with big boys like Murtala, Obj and Danjuma but Buhari couldn't

That's because Buhari was and still remains an autistic dunce.

Cow milk consumption in infants has been linked to autism.

Within the autistic spectrum, Buhari falls within the 100% autistic range.

Nigeria is not worth saving

What if I tell you that Nigeria is one big test tube by globalist to test their multicultural experiment.

The Jewish globalist/zionist are solidly behind the Fulani north to wipe out Christianity and install a socialist/communist multicultural contraption.

Nigeria is a microcosm of the continent, Africa. If multiculturalism can work in Africa, then it is assumed it can work any where.

They have been using Africa like a guinea pig to test policies, economic and financial theorems and hypothesis as well as even pharmaceutical drugs.

Fifa tested joint hosting with Ghana- Nigeria in 2000 before going ahead with the Korea -Japan world cup.

The EU used both the common currency, CFA and open borders in francafone West Africa long before the EU currency was launched and the Chenge zone was adopted.

Africa is the guinea pig of the world and Nigeria is the globalist experimental ground.

JUSTICETHEO:

The desk job at the Ministry of Petroleum would pacify Buhari by giving him access to loot in order to forgoe any ambitious plan of seizing power for himself. but they never knew that he still had his eyes on power. he started by massive looting of the ministry under his charge, obasnjo's government was thrown into confusion because nobody has ever looted such humongous amount. investigation started and buhari was queried, but he denied. the issue was later transferred to the succeding government of Shagari. investigation was carried out by the senate commitee on petroleum, headed by olusola saraki, the father of the present senate president. their search led them to a bank in london, where they found the money lodged in an account owned by Buhari. they reported their findings back to nigeria. prior to this, information has reached Buhari on what has happened, he quickly executed a coup sitting corruption as his excuse, sounds familiar. integrity my foot. the man he removed his government is the true man of integrity.
