Stop distracting Adeosun over NYSC certificate, group tells critics



Critics have been advised to stop the campaign against the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, over National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) exemption certificate, alleging it is a conspiracy to distract and tarnish her reputation.

The Coalition of Civil Society Groups (CCSG), which gave the advice, noted that in NYSC, there is no caveat on age and time to request for exemption letter if one is above 30 years, adding that the scheme is primarily to inculcate in youths the spirit of selfless service to the nation.

In a statement signed by Emmanuel Bako, Mike Olorunfemi, Nnamdi Okoroji, Lillian Cosmas, Fred Okoliko and Bashir Abubakar after their meeting in Lagos yesterday, they urged the public to discard stories trailing the news space.

The only thing i will say is this economy is a mirage
The bank rates(form M) for imported goods have gone up from 320 to 348 in 6 months
Them black market rates are falling like all buildings collapsing in rain and now stand at 360.50 And mind it it has been stable for quiet a long time.

So is cbn trying to bring naira at 360 to 1 usd so that parallel market and bank rate are same

I am not understanding if somebody can help me

The 1997 amendments
The 1997 amendments brought the CBN back under the supervision of the Ministry of Finance. The Decree made CBN directly responsible to the Minister of Finance with respect to the supervision and control of bank and other financial institutions, while extending the supervisory role of the bank to other specialised Banks and Financial Institutions. The amendment placed enormous powers on the Ministry of Finance while leaving the CBN with a subjugated role in the monitoring of the financial institutions with little room for the Bank to exercise discretionary powers.

An Amendment to what?.The CBN Act strictly empowers the CBN under the purview of monetary policy formulation and implementation within which it regulates and makes its laws and there has not been any amendment to strip it off such powers. What does subjugated role mean? Rubbish!
