Express WiFi is a wireless service promoted by Facebook, which aims to provide affordable Internet access to communities around the world. So far Express Wifi was launched in Nigeria and India.



How express WiFi Works



Express Wifi offers free Internet access through Wi-Fi connectivity, which has now become a standard feature on mobile devices. In collaboration with Internet service providers and local entrepreneurs, Facebook will provide points of access Wi-Fi allow access to fast and affordable Internet to communities.



The ingenuity of Wi-Fi system express is that Facebook is not limited to doing everything by itself, rather the social media giant is trying to empower ordinary people to provide Internet access in their own communities.



Facebook will provide local entrepreneurs with the software and equipment to provide Internet access in your community using Wi-Fi connectivity and in return, employers will make 15% commission on all data plans sold to the clients.



This system has the potential to empower thousands of small entrepreneurs time to provide Internet access to their communities.



Every business owner gets a Wi-Fi access that can provide up to 10 Mbps to be shared by all clients connected to the network. Facebook also provide an inverter 1KVA each contractor to ensure the reliability of Wi-Fi.



The service is available in India and Nigeria. Reportedly, there are already more than 125 points of Wi-Fi access rural India. In Nigeria, Facebook has partnered Coollink to implement the service. So far about 16 access points Wi-Fi were deployed in Lagos, Nigeria.
